Description
Overview & Community Philosophy
Nestled amidst the lush nature of rural Hsinchu County, Wonderwood Estate is a private creative sanctuary, workshop venue, and event space dedicated to artistic exploration, sustainable co-living, and meaningful connection. Our 2-hectare facility features a first-growth forest, a natural pond, and vibrant wildlife representing diverse microclimates.
We feature dedicated spaces for creative projects and fellowship, including a music house, and creative workspaces. We are located just minutes away from historic Beipu Township, offering a peaceful sanctuary far from city congestion while remaining connected to local cultural hubs.
Who We Welcome
We invite independent creators, artist-in-residence participants, and co-living guests who are self-driven, value mindfulness, and bring a purposeful vision for their personal projects or collaborative community engagement.
Co-Living & Shared Responsibilities
We operate on a cooperative, shared-household structure. All residents retain complete creative autonomy over their time, project schedules, and daily rhythms—there are no commercial service quotas, mandatory labor hours, or fixed shift rosters.
To maintain a clean, collaborative, and thriving home environment, all participants contribute proportionally to shared household operations. Daily household tasks, such as preparing shared meals, tidying common areas, and caring for our friendly animals, are handled collectively as shared domestic responsibilities among roommates, like any shared household. This averages 3-4 hours per day, 5 days per week.
Areas of Community Interest & Skill Sharing
Residents are encouraged to share their unique talents and immerse themselves in self-directed exploration. Activities and dynamic focus areas within our private ecosystem include:
- Nature immersion in the massive biodiversity and food forest.
- Creative Arts: Music sessions, visual arts, interdisciplinary collaborations, and workshops.
- Craft & Infrastructure Care: Arts/crafts, carpentry, and general upkeep of shared facility spaces.
- Experiential Design: Immersive game concepts, interactive storytelling, and community engagement initiatives.
When reaching out to connect, please share a brief summary of your creative background, your intended dates of stay, and how your current personal project or practices align with our community living ecosystem. -

Help
Nestled in Hsinchu’s nature, our private estate is a cooperative community sanctuary for global travelers, creators, and friends who value sustainable living.
We welcome self-driven, long-term co-living participants for a minimum of two weeks to share in our creative ecosystem and slow-paced lifestyle. Rather than structured business shifts, all residents retain full creative autonomy over their time while dynamically sharing in daily domestic rhythms, like forest gardening, artistic projects, and cooking, as a mindful household.
We do not offer commercial employment, we provide shared living spaces, with members contributing proportionally to communal resources and optional shared meal plans, fostering a collaborative home environment.
Our Household & Community Rhythm:
We provide accommodation, utilities, and two basic daily meals free of charge. For specialized items, snacks, coffee/tea, or extra provisions beyond our core shared meals, participants manage these items collaboratively or cover their own extras.
Because we operate on a model of mutual living rather than formal employment, participants share in our daily household rhythms and communal upkeep (such as helping prepare shared meals and keeping common areas tidy) alongside us. In addition to daily household rhythms, we are deeply integrated with our local neighborhood association, and participants occasionally join us for a morning or afternoon of neighborhood cultural projects and village engagement activities. -

What else ...
We are located just minutes away from historic Beipu, with frequent bus and shuttle service.
“Beipu Old Street was Beipu's most thriving commercial district in the Qing period. Today, it boasts Taiwan's highest concentration of historic sites, with seven such locations along a short 200-meter stretch… This is also a good place for a taste of Hakkanese cuisine, from ground tea to persimmon cakes.
We are also minutes away from Baoshan Reservoir #2, and Green World Wildlife Park (綠世界生態農場green-world) -

The work was varied, and I was able to be creative and realize my own project ideas. I could also use the instruments in the music room, which allowed me to play the piano again.

Best of all he helped us with some valuable tech projects and some event planning and marketing. Even after he left he's still helping us to build a website and with other online work.
