Description
Nestled amidst lush surroundings, this is a place for sharing, exploring, creating, and relaxing in a beautiful, natural environment. Our 2 hectare facility features a complete natural-systems-based site design with first-growth forest, a natural pond, thousands of species of flora and fauna and numerous gardens representing many microclimates. The site could be considered a school of nature with its endless learning opportunities and community members with expertise in many areas of study from nature, the arts, design, philosophy and more.
We also have a beautiful space dedicated to entertainment and fellowship, which includes musical instruments, and a small movie theater.
We are a social organization, and we believe in socializing with a purpose rather than socializing just to socialize. this place offers large community spaces to gather in fellowship as well as magical hideaways for leaving the human world behind and communing with nature.Types of help and learning opportunities

Help
We are looking for people who can help independently and have a vision for whichever project they'd like to pursue, whether it be personal or in benefit of the community. We are looking for people who can do tasks assigned without needing assistance once jobs have been assigned and explained.
We do ask that guests do a share of the house tasks to keep the quarters and grounds tidy. This will be usual household tasks like sweeping, doing dishes, making meals, tidying the kitchen, and taking out the garbage. This will be a split evenly between everyone on site, including us. This is a part of being part of the household and not included in expected work hours.
We are looking for a long term partner(s) to help build our community and vision. Please let us know if you are interested in this role.
Here is an overview of categories of tasks you can do with us. When you reach out, please indicate which role you are most interested in - both in terms of skills you have, but also what you would like to learn.
Bob the Builder - get involved in repair and upgrading the building and other infrastructure. For this role, you need to be quite self dependent and bring some skills & experience in. There are a lot of different small projects, so a mix of skills might come in handy.
Old MacDonald - this role will be great for you if you like to get your hands dirty by primarily doing gardening. It’s great if you have interest in permaculture and are eager to implement it, the projects will range from very simple to quite complex.
Amy Santiago - the project is at its beginning and it still needs some organizational tasks. Depending on our current needs and your skills, it might entail e.g. keeping track of event & reservations calendar, structuring tasks & building consistent practices etc. Ability to prioritize will come in handy here.
Schmidt - there is always some organizing, cleaning & maintenance to be done around the house, so it would be great if you care about things being organized and working efficiently. Great for shorter stays.
We are of course flexible, and want you to be satisfied with your tasks - this just helps us organize the work better.
When messaging us, please put in the subject line your preferred dates of stay and the preferred role.
We have a wide variety of activities along with many current and upcoming projects. These are based on the needs of our facilities and the interests, skills, and knowledge base of our community members and guests. Projects and activities you might participate in include:
Ecology, habitat, and Wildlife identification

We particularly enjoyed all the nights passed there playing board games and talking after dinner. The meals were cooked by each one of us with a schedule and we loved being able to cook again after months of travel without a kitchen (and oven !).
