    Description

My name is Jasper. On the quinta in the peaceful countryside of Portugal, I aim to develop a small eco-retreat. The land is surrounded by beautiful nature, with fresh mountain water flowing from the Serra da Estrela and a tranquil valley setting. We are creating a simple yet comfortable space where people can enjoy nature, work with the land, and experience a more natural way of living.

I'm a fasciatherapist with a deep love for natural living. I speak English, Portuguese, Dutch, and French. I'm always up for a laugh, and you can count on me to be kind, fair, and easy to get along with.

Our land features a small eco-campsite with basic facilities: a dry toilet, a solar-heated shower, and an outdoor kitchen. Drinking water comes from our wells, and you can take a refreshing bath—heated or cold—while enjoying a stunning view of the valley! Electricity is provided by an off-grid solar system. Nights are usually cool, making for restful sleep. Campfires are welcome except in the dry summer months.

If you're enthusiastic about natural living, enjoy working, and want to be part of a simple, sustainable project, we would love to hear from you!

Feel free to reach out with any questions.

    Warm regards,
    Jasper

    About the Area
Our quinta is conveniently located within walking distance of a charming village featuring a river beach, local restaurant, traditional Portuguese café, cozy bar, and a mini-market. In the next village you'll find amenities like a pharmacie, ATM, bakery, and a cultural center. The region is dotted with picturesque river beaches, and the majestic Serra da Estrela Natural Park is less than a 30-minute drive away. For urban excursions, Coimbra is 1h20 from here, with other smaller towns accessible within 30 minutes, providing ample opportunities for exploration and resupply.

    Sustainable & conscious living
To protect the environment, we only use natural products. We ask volunteers to bring biodegradable soaps and shampoos, as all wastewater is absorbed into the land, home to many small creatures like salamanders, lizards, frogs, and toads. If impossible to bring, we have some natural soap to share.
In line with our values, we prefer a vegetarian or vegan diet.

We’ll make sure you’ve got everything you need for preparing meals. Volunteers usually cook, or we join forces for some kitchen fun together. Our caravan with a comfy double bed and electricity is all yours to make it your own home. In the case of adverse weather conditions, there's also the option of a bed inside the house. The quinta is accessible via an unpaved ‘caminho’ (dirt road) with a few bumps and some incline, but regular cars and campervans can reach the property without issues.
