    Description

Kia ora! We're Laura, Whare, River (8) & Māhina (2)... and we live with two kelpie dogs (Booker & Cheetah), an affectionate cat (Luna) and a few chooks and cows. The kids do not go to school or daycare and we follow a life learning philosophy... meaning that we soak up all the beautiful experiences and interactions in life rather than following a set curriculum. So every day is different with an underlying rhythm to the chaos! Laura is a medical herbalist working mostly from home and loves growing medicinal herbs and making herbal products for family, friends and patients. Whare has many many projects on the go but also loves to get out for a dive or to go spearfishing. We also love growing and cooking our own organic/naturally grown food and finding time to enjoy all the goodness that rural, off-grid life has to offer!

Our property is a 23 hectare block with a mix of older and regen native bush and pasture. We have a large organic orchard/food forest and gardens that we struggle to keep up with on our own!! There is a beautiful swimming hole, a wood-fired hot tub and bath and a hot shower. Within 10-15 minutes drive there are several beautiful beaches and the estuary that are great for swimming, surfing, fishing, diving/snorkeling, kayaking, paddle boarding etc.

We please ask that you use only natural products in the shower (such as ecostore).

Occasionally hanging out with the kids while we hang out the washing or cook dinner... or helping with a meal or dishes would be wonderful too!
