Description
After a year break from Workaway, we are excited to welcome a new round of guests to our forest haven...
We are Sam and Liz, an Irish & American couple who have been living in Leitrim for the last 2 years. Sam is a business coach & consultant, and Liz is a life coach. We share the home with Pat the cat and Lungo the mini schnauzer.
In 2024 one of the largest storms ever to hit Ireland causes massive changes to our forest landscape. Since then we've been busy with repairs, reshaping the land and developing a new canvas for our home.
Daily activities typically include:
- Harvesting, Chopping & Storing Firewood
- Foraging for wild plants, berries and mushrooms
- Trekking in the forest
- Tending to the grow beds
- Placemaking & seating projects
We are living about 30mins drive from the Dublin to Sligo train line. It is a very rural setting. The nearest town is 10mins away.
The experience offers:
- Cultural exchange
- Learn about native Irish plants and herbs
- Spending time with a lovely cat and a dog
- Peaceful and secluded natural environment
- Hiking and Trekking in local mountains and lake areas
- Handpan lessons! :)
Accomodation is available in the house on the ground flow, where there is a large bed and private bathroom & shower. There is also accommodation space in the garden's gypsy caravan or in the forest camp in Bell Tents.
We typically offer 1 to 3 workawayers at any one time from a week or so onwards.
We look forward to welcoming you to lovely Leitrim!
