    Description

Hi, We are Diana and Geoff Robb, living on a small organic farm not too far from Bunbury in Australia's South West. We have orchards of apples and plums and a market garden. We spend a lot of our time growing and picking the fruit and vegetables and looking after the chickens, horses and our dog and cat and a lamb. I have hosted a lot of visitors and enjoy the exchange of ideas and information. You can access our wi-fi for emails. Telstra is the best telecom provider for rural areas and you can buy data to use on your phones etc.

Our home is older but comfortable, we will try to make a single bedroom for you, max of two people together. We like to cook and we use a lot of our home grown ingredients.

Please understand this is a farm, so the location is not close to a town or entertainment. We will take you wherever we go, but if you don’t have your own transport you will spend your time on the farm. There are places where you can walk, exercise or meditate.

Because of the organic garden we prefer non smokers. If you are vegan it’s ok but I need your help to prepare meals for you.

Many travellers have an urban background. It's very interesting to live on a working farm and see how your food is grown and what happens behind the scenes before the produce gets to market. Life is a different pace, we work with nature, by the season and in tune with the changes of climate. Farming without using chemicals opens people to all sorts of other ingenious methods of protecting our crops. And it's very rewarding to see things grow, specially something you have planted by, yourself.

    Help

Volunteers help in many ways. They feed and look after our chickens. They keep the veggie gardens in order, help with the planting and harvesting as well as a bit of weeding. Sometimes we take volunteers to the markets in Perth so they can have a day in the city after the market. We do expect people to clean up after themselves and help with the cooking and kitchen chores.

    Accommodation

You would have a bedroom in the house, close access to a bathroom. We all eat together at night although breakfast and lunch are more relaxed as people head off to different activities.

In regional areas wifi is very limited. We have enough for people to check their Internet using our desktop. It's a good idea to have some data credit on your phone and if possible use a Telstra sim which has a better network coverage.

    What else ...

We take our volunteers into Bunbury generally once a week for shopping and relaxing. There isn't much in the way of public transport but I help where I can. Bunbury has lovely beaches and is famous for Dolphins.
