    Description

Hello :) We are Joe and Rona, and we are awaiting to welcome you to our beautiful home in the center of portugal!
Our place is a semi self sustainable off grid farm 2 hectares large. The name of the land is Quinta Tres Cascates, which means farm of the three waterfalls, and in the autumn and winter time is when this really comes alive. We have over 20 fruiting trees such as apples, pears, feijoas, figs, peaches and many more. We have been living on the land here for 3 years and we're constantly working to bring it back to its former glory, and create a place where sustainability, freedom and most importantly healing can be lived.

Our main focus's on the land here are growing food and maintaining the place in such a way that we can create more spaces for people to come and live and stay here for short or long term periods of time. We wish to create here a sanctuary where all may come and feel welcome.
We are very passionate about the land but also have many other interests such as music, cooking, preserving foods, gathering together with other people and simply enjoying this wonderful life.

The farm is located in a gorgeous part of Central Portugal, with lots of beautiful hiking and swimming areas and a lively alternative community offering different kinds of therapies, art, music and other alternative living activities.
Nearby towns: Oliviera do Hospital, Tabua.
Bigger cities (about an hour away): Viseu, Coimbra.

    What else ...

The land is in walking distance from a small village where you can find a Cafe, a restaurant, and a small shop. Transportation can be a bit tricky in this area without a car, so this would definitely be more suited for people that enjoy spending quite time in nature and can keep themselves busy in their free time (or have their own car! :).
We will, however, be very happy to show you around and go hiking, swimming and to social gatherings and activities, when it suits us all.
Meals will not be provided regularly. We can help with shopping once a week, and would love to share some meals together when it suits us all. There's a nice outdoor kitchen with everything you need for cooking, and of course, everything we grow on the land can be shared and used.
