    It is a volunteer-run trekking organization based in Xela, Guatemala. Our mission is to support local communities by funding a school and home for at-risk children through multi-day hiking adventures. We’re a close-knit, international team passionate about sustainable tourism, cultural exchange, and making a positive impact. We value respect, teamwork, and adventure, and we welcome travelers who want to grow, learn, and contribute.

    Guide Job Overview: Hike Volcanoes and Help Kids! Live and work as a trekking guide at our organization, leading hikes in the volcanic highlands of Guatemala to help raise sustainable funding for the local education projects of our parent nonprofit. This is a full-time volunteer position, with a 3 month minimum time commitment.

    Social Media Job Overview: As our Social Media Volunteer, you’ll help share our mission, grow our online presence, and connect with travelers who want to make a difference. You’ll create content, manage posts, and track engagement. This is also a full-time volunteer position, with a 3 month minimum time commitment.

    Volunteer Guide - Job Description
    Become a vital part of the project by leading multi-day treks through the stunning Guatemalan highlands. As a Volunteer Guide, you’ll ensure safe, engaging, and educational experiences for travelers while supporting the social programs of our partner school. Your role includes managing logistics, preparing trek gear, communicating with local providers, and fostering meaningful connections between communities and visitors.

    Ideal candidates are physically fit (able to hike 20+ km carrying 15-25 kg), with intermediate English (B1+) and conversational Spanish (A2+) skills. You’ll need strong leadership, communication, and teamwork abilities, plus flexibility to adapt to changing conditions. First aid knowledge and experience in group management are highly valued.

    A minimum 3-month full-time commitment is required. In return, you’ll gain valuable skills in outdoor leadership, emergency response, logistics, and cross-cultural communication, while living and working with a supportive international team.


    Social Media Volunteer – Job Description
    Join to promote sustainable tourism supporting education for at-risk children in Guatemala. As a Social Media Volunteer, you’ll manage content calendars, create engaging posts (text, images, and videos), monitor and respond to community interactions, and analyze social media performance using tools like Facebook Insights and Google Analytics. You’ll also assist with general office tasks and occasionally join treks to capture content and connect with our partner school.

    We’re looking for volunteers with strong written and verbal English skills (B1+), intermediate Spanish (A2+), and a solid understanding of platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, X, and TikTok. Experience with content creation tools like Canva and basic photo/video editing is a plus. Successful volunteers are creative, self-motivated, detail-oriented, and flexible, able to work independently and as part of a diverse international team.

    A minimum commitment of 3 months full-time is required. In return, you’ll gain valuable skills in nonprofit communication, digital marketing, and project management while experiencing cultural immersion, leadership opportunities, and free shared accommodation.

    -Housing - Free private room provided in Casa Argentina, nice hot showers, fully stocked communal kitchen, office computers and WiFi available.
    -Food - All on-trek food (and other expenses) is covered for guides. Shared tip money pays for communal groceries in the office, and often other basic living expenses. Communal kitchen with everything you'd need.
