Description
Hi, we are a Swiss family living in Bombarral: NiA (42) , Tobi (48), Mian (14) and Noe (12). We live in a wonderful (almost finished) house in central Portugal. Mountains and beaches are close, the views are spectacular, it's really quiet and relaxing and in the morning you can hear the birds singing!
We are the founders of an organization, we raise awareness about marine litter through action and creativity!
We live in Portugal since may 24 in this wonderful house. There is a big garden where we want to create a food forest. We follow the rules of permaculture and already the first trees are planted.
As we where traveling a lot in our lives we also like to set up a rest area for Camper-vans and other travelers to share this wonderful place.
We where hosting workawayers from allover the world in Lanzarote for about 6 years and we really enjoyed! Now we are jumping in to this new project and looking forward of having a great time here in Portugal! Join us!Types of help and learning opportunities

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
We follow the roules of permaculture since quite a while, and of course we like sharing our ideas.
Portugal offers a huge amount of activities - we are surf family, so there are boards and wetsuits around for you (depending on size) - to the sea and a lagoon it takes about 20 minutes by car. There is the Serra the Montejunto close by. Hiking, biking, snorkeling are our favorite recreational activities. There is a small city just in walking distance, but its a quiet area. There is busses to Lisbon every 15 minutes if you fancy a city trip, it only takes 45 minutes.Projects involving children
This project could involve children. For more information see our guidelines and tips here.

We will share our house with you, but we have two annexes, one is ready to move in, so you will even get a own little house. We will provide excellent, mainly vegetarian food (breakfeast - lunch - dinner) for you, but of course we'd love to share and learn cooking skills to!
Also, you have the possibility of parking your Camper-Van or set up a tent if you wish. What else ...
If your having a break central Portugal is just the place to be, You can choose from City, mountains, rivers, lagoon and beach-life. The public transport works fine, of course you can always join us in our car to.There is the famous Buddah-Garden just close by (3 minutes by car, walking distance). To really enjoy the whole area we still recommend a own car, as there is so much to see.

We enjoyed the time when they were working hard on our finca (permaculture farm)! It was always fun, and they not only did what we wanted if not just that important bit more, we were really happy! Also, they stayed longer because it seemed they are happy too, so just win-win! They participated on… read more
