    Description

We are a family with three little kids (5 year old girl, 3 and 1 year old boys) and awaiting the 4th just before Christmas. I'm homeschooling the 5 year old at this time. No pets. We live in the beautiful ski town of Whistler, BC. The mountain opens the weekend prior to when I need help so there will be plenty of opportunity for hitting the slopes. There are amazing restaurants, community centre and other outdoor activities like cross country skiing to be enjoyed. We live across from a bustop that brings you right into the village so transport is easy. Looking forward to having you join us and

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

There is a great social scene for young people in Whistler, and many are internationals from all over the world. Aside from the mountain, the community centre has classes, there is a climbing gym in the village and other social places to meet people. Our family is involved at the local church if you want to join us there, and it has a strong community of young people there. We hope to learn from you about your culture and we are happy to share Canadian culture with you! There is SO much to do in Whistler and lots of quintessential Canadian experiences to be had. For a city-fix, we are only 1.5-2 hours from beautiful Vancouver.

  • Help

    Help

My husband will have just had back surgery so I need some help late Nov/ early December. The mountain opens the previous weekend so you will have plenty of time to ride/ski. I have flexibiilty with the hours I need help so happy to work with you to arrange a mutually agreeable schedule so you get to enjoy the mountain and town while also helping out around the house. Things I may need help with: cooking and/or meal prep for postpartum, playing with the kids at home, dropping kids at activities and/or babysitting kids in the house while I go out, light cleaning and housework. We have a private room and ensuite in our home for you, on a different level from our bedrooms. Ideally around November 25-December 4th ish, but maybe through to the 6th or 7th.

    Accommodation

We have a private room with a private ensuite bathroom. It is on the main level of our home and our rooms are upstairs so you have lots of privacy. We have a desk, queen bed and TV in the bedroom. We can provide all linens and bedding you may need. The kitchen is shared on the second level of the townhome. We are omnivores and try to eat a balanced, healthy diet but don't adhere to anything specific. We are very familiar with serious allergies as my husbnad has several, but he will not be present that week so no need to stress about it. You are welcome to share in what we have for groceries but are also welcome to leave some of your own food in the fridge/kitchen if there are specific things you want.

  • What else ...

    What else ...

Whistler is a magical place in the winter and there is a ton to do. As mentioned, there is a bustop across the street. We live in a primarily locals neighbourhood and have a hostel in the area which has a little cafe and is licensed after hours. In a nearby neighbourhood there are few more cafes and breweries. If you take the bus 10 minutes up the road you get to the Creekside neighbourhood with more amenities. The main Whistler village is about a 20 minute bus ride from our house. In the village there is a library, numerous restaurants, an art gallery, vibrant night life, cross country skiing, tubing, ice skating and more.
