Description
My name is Scott, founder of an international martial arts and performance training organisation established in China in 2007.
For nearly two decades I have developed and operated residential training facilities in China, Sweden, the Caribbean, and the Philippines, helping people improve their health, fitness, mindset, and overall quality of life through structured training, proper nutrition, and personal development.
I am now developing our newest location on the island of Bohol — a large private property that is entering its operational phase as an international health, fitness, combat sports, and recovery facility.
The facility includes a fully equipped gym, combat sports training areas, swimming pool, sauna, recovery facilities, accommodation, and extensive tropical grounds.
This is not a hostel, backpacker environment, or party destination. It is a focused and peaceful environment built around discipline, self-development, healthy living, meaningful work, and community.
We are looking for reliable individuals who would like to contribute to the day-to-day operation and continued development of the facility while becoming part of a unique international project.

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
Living here provides a unique opportunity to experience life within an international health, fitness, and performance facility focused on discipline, structure, self-development, and healthy living.
Volunteers gain insight into how a residential training facility operates, including hospitality, guest services, property management, facility maintenance, fitness culture, and the daily routines that support a productive lifestyle.
With nearly two decades of experience building and operating residential training facilities in China, Sweden, the Caribbean, and the Philippines, I enjoy sharing knowledge with reliable and hardworking individuals who genuinely want to learn and contribute.
Depending on your interests and experience, there may be opportunities to learn about:
- Property and facility management
- Fitness, recovery, and healthy living
- Martial arts and performance training
- Running an international health and fitness business
Volunteers have access to excellent facilities including a fully equipped gym, combat sports training areas, swimming pool, sauna, recovery facilities, and peaceful tropical surroundings.
The property is located on the island of Bohol, offering access to beautiful beaches, waterfalls, diving, island activities, and local Filipino culture during your free time.
This environment is best suited to people who value personal responsibility, reliability, health, self-improvement, and meaningful work.
We are a non-smoking environment.
Please contact us through the Workaway platform. Due to ongoing operations and project commitments, replies may occasionally take time, but all serious applicants will receive a response.
This opportunity is intended for individuals who are genuinely interested in contributing positively and becoming part of a respectful, professional environment. -

Typical activities may include:
Property & Grounds

Individuals with professional backgrounds in health, fitness, recovery, physiotherapy, massage therapy, yoga instruction, coaching, or related fields are also welcome. Depending on experience and the needs of the facility, there may be opportunities to share these skills with our community.
Every volunteer brings different abilities, and responsibilities are adapted wherever possible to suit individual skills, experience, and interests.
This is not heavy construction work, but it does require people who are physically capable, self-motivated, reliable, and willing to contribute with a positive attitude.
We maintain a structured, respectful environment focused on health, personal development, and meaningful work.
For individuals who demonstrate professionalism, reliability, and a strong work ethic, there may be opportunities for longer-term involvement as the project continues to grow. -

Accommodation
Accommodation will be provided within the facility, typically in a shared hotel-style room or staff accommodation depending on availability and the number of volunteers present at the time.
All rooms are clean, comfortable, and located within the private resort grounds. Private rooms may occasionally be available for longer-term volunteers or individuals with specialist skills, although shared accommodation should be expected as standard.
You will receive three meals per day. Food is nutritious, healthy, and prepared fresh on site. Meals typically consist of a mix of local and international dishes, with a strong focus on proper nutrition and quality ingredients.
The environment is peaceful, safe, and structured, and located within a tropical island setting surrounded by nature.
Meals are nutritious and balanced. Vegetarian diets can be accommodated, but we are not able to support specialized or restrictive diets.
Volunteers also have access to the gym, swimming pool, sauna, and other facility amenities during their free time, subject to availability and operational requirements. -
What else ...
The facility is located on the island of Bohol, one of the Philippines’ most popular tropical destinations. During your free time you can explore white-sand beaches, waterfalls, caves, diving and snorkeling sites, island-hopping tours, mountain viewpoints, local markets, and traditional Filipino culture.
Popular attractions such as Panglao Island, Alona Beach, the Chocolate Hills, Loboc River, and numerous diving locations are all within reach.
The property itself offers a peaceful environment with panoramic views, tropical gardens, a swimming pool, gym, training facilities, sauna, and plenty of space to relax, train, read, or enjoy nature.
We are looking for mature, reliable, and self-motivated individuals who enjoy healthy living, meaningful work, and being part of a respectful community.
Most volunteers stay for a minimum of four weeks, although longer stays are preferred as they allow individuals to integrate more fully into the project and community.
Strong work ethic, personal responsibility, professionalism, and a positive attitude are highly valued. -

The work was easy as I had some different tasks around the barn like scraping off the paint or painting the outside of the yoga studio. I had to work 4 hours a day and it was up to me when I started.
