Gregory was so easy to live and work with. Words cannot describe how perfect he is. No task was left undone. We loved sharing our time with him. He fit right in with our family. Happy to have him back anytime.

One of the kindest family I've ever met! I've felt welcomed as soon as I arrived
I was gardening with Catherine and helped John for different tasks chopping wood, cleaning shed, help with timber etc...
Had a Saturday night out in the local pubs together and had a bicycle to discover town and national park.
Everything was perfect.

My stay at John and Catherine's place was grand, felt like home straight away, I had everything I needed and they are very inclusive and kind. I feel very grateful having met them and their family.
The work in October for me was mainly timber prep and cutting edges, and some maintenance around the house, I learned a lot and improved some skills.

This was my first workaway experience and it was great. I just stayed for three weeks but John already offered me a stay for my honeymoon :)
John, Catherine, Brid and Dennis are lovely people. They answered my message right away. They picked me up from the train station when I arrived and they took me to town whenever I needed a ride. John is a
… read more very kind and relaxed farmer. He always told me to take my time and he was not strict about working everytime of the day. I spend most of my Sundays in town because Sundays is your day off. One time, I spontaneously wanted to go for a hike on a thursday and that was no problem at all. You can talk with him and everyone else about anything you want to know. There was always enough food for me, sometimes even more then I could eat. I had my own room which was great after a long time of staying in hostels with other people. They even gave me some clothes and wellingtons for farming and gardening. Catherine washed my clothes for me and always took care of the food. Brid is always open for a little chat.
Killarney is a great place to stay for a month. The national park is great. Town is great aswell with a cinema, lots of bars and restaurants and kind people. I did a Ring of Kerry Tour which was worth the money. If you have a sunny day you should definetly go for a little hike to the Torc mountain! Spend some time in the National Park, it's stunning or go for a Kajak Tour (a little expensive). Oh, as long as you like potatoes you'll be fine. And you get used to the smell :)
My favourite cow is Ginger and if you are at their place take a look and find my name! Thank you, John and Catherine, for giving me lovely stay.
I wish you all the best.
