Description
We are Martina, from Czech Republic and Davy, from Belgium and we are looking for people that want to help out with the starting up of a self sustainable community in the mountains of "La Tigra" . We are located in a remote location surrounded by the Children's Eternal Rainforest , the biggest private reserve in Costa Rica. There is lots of pure nature and amazing wildlife to explore in this area!
Come to help us on our place. We created a natural, simple and peaceful way of living in full harmony with Mother Earth.

We have strong connection with the local community and attend regularly Agro-Ecology courses in our area. Mostly with local experts and local people that want to learn about organic gardening and a shift towards a healthy, conscious lifestyle! Our farm also regularly opens the doors for organic meetings, workshops , educational tours...
Visitors with an open mind and a willingness to be inspired and amazed by the natural beauty of all Life around us, will learn new things every moment spent at this magical space!

Help
Our main focus is providing ourselves and our local community with HEALTHY ORGANIC FOOD, and to have FUN in the process! Martina loves art and cooking , Davy loves games and farming . Both our strengths combined create a powerful team-work that makes our 'dream-work' !
Permaculture and biodynamic farming, with a complete natural and regenerative approach is our way to work towards healthy produce at the farm! Every day we work with nature and try to learn from nature.
Garden tasks like weeding , planting, digging , chop and drop , spraying organic fertilizers, creating mandala gardens, harvesting , etc... are part of the daily chores on the farm !
There is also natural building happening on the farm so besides plant lovers we also welcome people with building skills , especially carpenters. We try to use a lot of locally harvested wood , bamboo, etc ... in our homes and cabins.

For NEW volunteers connecting to us here on workaway please notice that for the next months of 2022 we are ONLY looking for volunteers with farming and gardening EXPERIENCE and/or skilled carpenters that can help us with our specific farm jobs at this moment.

ONLY sleeping in tents available for the next 2-3 summer months ! We provide tents in case you do not have a tent yourself.
Plenty of organic food offered at farm , from local farmer's market or from own produce. Flexible cooking responsibilities , wash dishes , keep kitchen area clean . Everybody helps out where possible and good, open communication always brings a harmonious living together at the farm!
Food arrangements can shift according to the time spent working at the farm and the flexibility of the volunteers. We always offer a delicious farm lunch (Martina's magic meals!) for every day that you help out with the farm work (4-5 hours on average) . On most days here we can share some fun evening time (games!) together and a possible farm dinner too! Volunteers usually take care of their own breakfast ingredients and preparations of their morning meals.
All of the food arrangements are always very flexible here . Once at the farm many volunteers agree to contribute for shared food ingredients and so enjoy more shared meals a day together , cooked by Martina.

PURA VIDA is what Costa Rica stands for and here is a bit of explanation what that means ! And it is also our approach to life at the farm ! So if you feel connected to the following words please do not hesitate to contact us!
Pura Vida means " Pure Life" : "To live a peaceful, simple, uncluttered life with a deep appreciation for nature, family and friends; a ‘real living’ that reflects happiness, well-being, and satisfaction.
There is MUCH more magic to explore, also outside our mountain, and all those options, local sights, fun activities can be talked about here at the farm!
TRANSPORT between La Tigra, the local town, and our mountain space (10 minutes away by car) , can be arranged in advance with our community members that have a car.
We are happy to pick you up at first day arrival but we also try to limit our driving! So taxi ,buses ,feet must be used too, once you are settled on the mountain and you want to go places.
Please , NO smoking, No alcohol , just your pure NATURAL being is all we need here. :)
