    Description

We are Gogita and Keto, a young couple running a small, artisanal winery and family-style restaurant in Terjola, Imereti (West Georgia).

Gogita is a generational winemaker and a pioneer of Georgia’s modern natural wine movement. He founded a small artisanal cellar in 2008 and has been producing and exporting all over the world low-intervention natural wines.
Keto runs a women-led, farm-to-table restaurant in a 200-year-old traditional Imeretian Oda house with her sister-in-law, where guests enjoy village type dishes made of seasonal ingredients from local farms owned by female farmers and producers.

In order for us to be able to reach our goals we need volunteers who want to join our community and help us develop our project in the following areas:

Farming & gardening – we have several plots of land where we'd like to plant organic vegetable garden to supply our restaurant and later to employ locals to look after it. Our home and restaurant are located in a 4000 sq.m yard and we need people to help us plan landscaping and do general yard work.

Construction & maintenance – anyone with a basic knowledge of woodwork, carpentry, welding, is very welcome to help us do general repairs around the winery, restaurant, and garden.

Animal farming – as mentioned above, together with the garden we'd also like to set up animal farms on the plots we own and care for chickens, pigs, and cows.

Towards the end of Summer ocasionally we need helpers in the wine cellar.

We welcome anyone who is eager to experience Georgian rural life, hospitality, and traditional winemaking. In exchange for your help, we offer home-cooked meals, our wines, accommodation, a warm family atmosphere, and the opportunity to get to know local traditions, Georgian cuisine culture, and traditional winemaking practices.

We value curiosity, responsibility, and a genuine interest in learning, contributing, and sharing everyday life together.

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

At our place, you’ll gain cultural experience through:

    – cooking and sharing traditional Imeretian home dishes, farm-to-table practices, seasonal eating, cheese adn khachapuri making,,and traditional food preservation (the way our grandmothers used to make them)

    – authentic village living, family gatherings, celebrations with the community members, long shared meals, and Georgian hospitality (supra culture).

    – visiting local wineries and farmers, exploring forests, rivers, countryside, hiking, and foraging (which is very big in Imereti, since locals have always been foraging for food, and still practice this tradition).

    – learning basic Georgian through daily life, work, and shared experiences

  • Help

    Help

Our main work season is from March–April through the fall, and during this time we are urgently looking for help to plant, maintain, and develop our organic vegetable garden; build raised beds for herbs and flowers; and through different DIY projects help shape the landscape and organize yard.

Also, during this period we need to build wooden tables and chairs for the restaurant, to accommodate more people in our beautiful garden and support ongoing projects around the winery, restaurant, and garden through woodwork, carpentry, welding & general construction.

Since we are exporting our wines to 17 different countries, every season we have lots of visitors from all over the world and anyone who is interested in hospitality to help us receive the foreign guests is highly welcomed.

This is an ideal opportunity for people who want to live off of land, grow their own ecologically clean food, and take part in building and growing the community of Terjola.

  • Accommodation

    Accommodation

Volunteers will stay on our property and share our home with us. We offer several accommodation options depending on availability:
-A shared room for up to 2 people inside the main house
-An unfurnished second floor that can accommodate up to 6 people, with a shared bathroom
-A small wooden cottage located separately from the main house, suitable for 2 people (bathroom and toilet are in the main house)

All accommodation is located within the same yard, where you’ll also find our vegetable garden and restaurant. The space is simple, communal, well equipped and closely connected to everyday life on the property.

The volunteers will be provided 3 meals a day, which will be shared with us. We have two kitchens: one in the main house and another one in the restaurant. Guests are more than welcome to take whatever the ingredients they need from the pantry and use both these kitchens if they wish to cook food for themselves. We will have our veggie garden which will also provide vegetables for everyone to eat.

    What else ...

Just up the hill from our property is an old Soviet sanatorium, surrounded by deep forest and offering stunning views over the entire village. The forest is only a 5-7 mins walk from our yard and is a perfect spot for picnics, enjoying our wines in nature, or morning workouts. It’s a peaceful place to relax, connect with nature, and take in the beauty of the surrounding countryside.
