    Description

We are a family of six - four humans and two dogs, on a large suburban block teaming with birds and wildlife.
Currently our 18 year old is away travelling and Barbara is away working - so we are down to four at the moment.
We are easy going, non-judgemental folk who welcome and celebrate people of all cultures and diversities who are curious, peaceful and friendly.
We live close to public transport, are 30 mins bus ride (or 15 mins car drive) to gorgeous beaches and cafes. We are approximately two and a half hours by train north of Sydney.
We mostly need a bit of help around the house with some cleaning, caring for the dogs, maybe some bits and garden work, or meal preparation.
We don’t have a huge amount of set jobs or tasks that need doing, so visitors have quite a bit of time to go to the beach and explore Newcastle, but you are most welcome to chill in the hammock at home! If there is more than one of you we might ask that you contribute/share in some food provision.

We have one teenage daughter who just finished High School. The other teenage daughter is at the beginning of High School. Barbara has just begun working away from home for extended periods in remote NSW. Ian works as in health providing mental health care to kids. We are interested in travel and have travelled the world extensively. We enjoy learning about other cultures and sharing our mixed Australian/Northern European heritage. We are omnivores, but will try and accommodate all diets.

  • Help

    Help

Mostly we just want some help with household chores like cleaning and tidying, playing with the dogs, maybe preparing a meal.
Occasionally we might need help minding the dogs if we need to travel, or to walk them and play with them if we are busy. We also occasionally need simple help in the large garden with assorted and varied basic gardening jobs. All very flexible depending upon our schedule, your skills and interest, and…the vibe 😁

    Accommodation

You would have access to a large room in our home, sharing our two bathrooms. There is a very large outside undercover deck, overlooking our little gully and creek, as well as a large lounge area. Recently added new kitchen is a joy to be in for those who like cooking.

    Profile photo of Koda

    Koda (8 years)

Garrulous energetic Kelpie (possibly with some Wolfhound) who loves chasing and fetching. He is also a rescue dog, who gets along very well with his little sister, and can be very affectionate.

    Profile photo of Fuji

    Fuji (6 years)

Cute cuddly couch potato, rescued dog. Probably Flat Coated Retriever X Border Collie.
    She is our lovable girl.
