    Description

We are an off grid 15 acre ranch in the desert of El Pescadero, Baja Sur. 15 minutes from Cerritos beach, 25 min from Todos Santos. We have been developing our off grid Permaculture Farm and Eco village since 2019. We are working on gardens, increasing wildlife habitat, trail networks, and eco friendly infrastructure. Husband and wife team, Dane and Sabrina have been living off grid since 2017 and are chasing a goal for self sufficient living in harmony with nature. The area is abundant in exploration either the Sierra de la Laguna Mountains or the beaches of El Pescadero. We offer an enriching experience to reconnect with nature while living off the grid and developing a permaculture skillset.

    Help

We will be looking for 2-4 people to help in the following key areas for the winter/spring season. This could be separate people or a couple for these positions.

    1. Maintenance person: This position is key for our eco village to function and thrive. This person will be responsible for keeping the common areas consistently clean and functional. This includes basic kitchen duties, sweeping and general upkeep of our palapa common space, laundry as needed, raking the patio areas, garbage collection, compost, keeping bathrooms clean, keeping our trails clean and functional for guests. Some extra jobs that could be done when slow: campground development, trail development, and help with basic construction projects.

    2. Gardener/Farm worker: This position is very important to the rancho as we take great pride in the care provided for all the plants and animals we live amongst and share our beautiful property with. Some tasks include : Animal husbandry (chickens, wildlife, dogs, cats, etc.) Garden projects / care and maintenance ( watering, mulching, planting, harvesting, permaculture garden projects) . We will be creating a new community garden area and this will be a lot of planning, developing and implementing new systems, therefore preference for this position will be given to applicants with prior permaculture experience.

    3. Campground Development & Maintenance (1-2 people): Our campground needs help getting back on its feet for the season. Ideally they would stay in our campground in their own accommodations, but do have tents with mattresses and bedding if needed. We are only asking 2-3 hrs per day of work for this position, in exchange for a safe, private site in our campground and use of our common areas. This position does not include food. Preference given to someone with construction skills and/or landscaping experience. Once campground is ready this could turn into a campground host position for the right person.
