Description
Our ancient farmhouse nestles at the bottom of a forested mountain and winding country lane alongside a sweeping riverside frontage to the Ebre. One of Europe's longest rivers, the river flows gently past the banks of the finca, dozens of meters wide and teeming wiht catfish and wading birds, to the Ebro delta.
A thousand year old Knights Templar Castle dominates the pretty town of Miravet in the distance.
I am Lola and I am a Spanish language lecturer. The Farmhouse had been renovated through the years but still needs some tender loving care in painting and small maintenance, here and there.
The land has extensive hillside terracing and a large riverside field. There are lots of opportunities for permaculture and growing. Plus animal care. We have dogs as pets and are thinking of goats and more! We want to start our organic garden with permaculture so please contact us if you can help.
Staying and working here will suit someone who likes to write or read, to compose, paint, or practice Spanish. It is very peaceful. A long stay would be preferable. Also it demands a driver (Renault Kangoo van available) as it takes about 12 minutes drive towards the Miravet village. Or if you want to walk along the Ebro towards the village it takes about 2,5 km of an exiting walk through nature. Also availability of one bike in the garage.
Nearby the main farmhouse we have a garage that can be used as art studio in which to paint and to create art.
The house interior is full of art from my late partner Jose. He did painting, ceramics, wood sculptures and innovated in other forms of art.Types of help and learning opportunities

Help
We are looking for a Workawayer (or a couple) who loves to maintain a farmhouse, where plants need watering, pets need food, where house cleaning is part of the day and where occasional maintenance is needed. In winter the house can be warmed with two wood fireplaces.
If you love to work in permaculture and maintain a small garden, this will be welcomed.
Some 200 meters above the farmhouse my daughter has a house, where in the surroundings plants also need to be watered.Languages

What else ...
The area around the house is well known for its wines, we have lots of green routes, the village is famous for its ceramic potters. There are opportunities for horse riding, canoeing and lots of amazing walks....
Miravet as a small village has no access to public transport. The buses are in Mora d’Ebre and the trainstation is in Mora la Nova. From here all cities are reachable.A little more information
