Description
Hello travellers!
I built my dream home in the lovely countryside of Antalya, Turkey a few years ago. It is a quiet corner by a vast forest, surrounded by fields and orchards, but still a short cycle away from the town and a 30 minute drive from the city centre. I have cats, dogs, chickens, and lovely neighbours I get to share my life with.
I had a long career before moving here from teaching to owning a shop to being a tattoo artist. In the meantime, I raised my two daughters and they inspired me to open my life to travelling souls from over the world and share my lovely home.
Over the years, I have been planting my garden, built a greenhouse, turned the attic into a workshop for my art projects, sewing, knitting, and all the rest. In this quiet corner, there is plenty of time and soothing corners of the nature to rest, and there is always a lot to do as well. I am always looking to add things to my home, take care of the garden and the surrounding land, and come up with arts and crafts projects. You're more than welcome to join me to rest, be in nature, work with your hands and creativity! -

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
This part of the country offers the tastiest fresh fruit and vegetables, and I happen to be a pretty good cook! So I can share/teach Turkish cuisine and culture.
Antalya is a very multicultural city with travellers visiting for all kinds of routes in mind. We are a short drive away from the Lycian way for one of the world's best natural hiking trails, Geyikbayiri as a wonderful spot for rock climbing, Kas for diving and paragliding, many ancient cities, beaches, and multicultural communities in and around the city. -
Help
The tasks will vary with time and depending on the season. Right now, we will mainly be repairing the greenhouse and weeding the garden. You're welcome to join the everyday tasks like cooking and cleaning. And if you show up with any skills/ideas or get inspired by what you find in the house, I am always happy to create time and space for new projects!

It has been a while since I practiced my French, and I don't speak much English apart from the basic things (disclaimer: my daughter's helping me write this). So we might not be able to have very long conversations without the aid of technology. Please let me know in your message that this is not a problem for you. -
Accommodation
I have two rooms on the top floor of my house that are only for travellers. The toilet and the shower are only for your use as well. Their upkeep and cleaning are therefore your responsibility during your stay. The middle floor is the kitchen and living area.
You are always free to keep food and cook however you wish. There are three meals, depending on the number of volunteers and their skills/interests, the cooking and cleaning may or may not be a shared task.
I mainly cook vegetables but there is every now and then some meat and chicken. Let me know if you have any strict dietary restrictions/preferences. -

Can host digital nomads
There are no strict work hours, we can easily work around any work schedule. There is decent internet connection, many of our neighbours work from home as well.
-
Space for parking camper vans
There is plenty of space in front of the garden among the olive trees to park any vehicle without anyone disturbing.

Can possibly accept pets
My cat usually wanders around and only comes home every once in a while. I am not very comfortable with very big dogs (though we have two outside, it just takes a while for me to get used to the dog I suppose). We have chickens in the coop outside, so if the pet is friendly with all of us, there is no problem!
