We are a research project for the protection and conservation of sea turtles in Costa Rica. We have been running research projects in Costa Rica since 1986, and we work closely with the Ministry of the Environment. Our team is made up of marine biologists, local community members international research assistants and environmental enthusiasts, to not only protect turtles, but to collect data to form a long term conservation strategy for the Costa Rican government

The chance to see nesting turtles, and hatchlings! You will learn about the importance of turtles in the ecosystem, and play a vital role in the operational aspects of our program! - you can also participate in night patrols to look for nesting turtles if you wish!
Our research project accepts international volunteers to work with sea turtles, so we are looking to recruit longer term volunteers to help with looking after them!
Your duties will be helping to cook meals, light cleaning, some gardening, attending to volunteer enquiries etc
In return we offer food and accommodation.

helping with composting and recycling
preparing accommodation for new volunteers
general repairs and maintenance.
Applicants must know how to cook, and be creative with limited resources.
Minimum stay 1 month
shared room, dorm style. Solar power only, cold showers.
3 basic meals per day included
there are no transport options to leave the area for the day. We recommend relaxing in a hammock!
You must love nature and be comfortable with living in basic conditions.
