Description
My name is Gabriel and I am the president of a wildlife conservation/ rescue organization and co-owner of the 42 acres its housed on.Myself and a "new generation of wildlife professionals" took over the project nearly 3.5 years (this is a 26 year old project) with the goal to rescue, rehabilitate, and save as many wildlife patients as possible. We have a new goal to convert the property (42 acres) into a self sufficient organic farm that not only feeds all of the animals under our care but the students and visitors that frequent our campus daily. Our intention is to blend practical wildlife conservation with organic farming to better serve our conservation goals and give back to the planet. We currently employ 10 paid staff throughout the year.

Help
We are always in need of a variety of skill to help run our 42 acre multi-faceted project.Landscaping,, marketing, property management, housekeeping, harvesting, farm work, kitchen work, construction, beach/ community outreach, are just a few of the positions we are currently trying to fill to allow our project to flourish.

Languages
Languages spoken
English: Fluent
Spanish: FluentThis host offers a language exchange
We are happy to host volunteers who are interested in practicing languages. Most of our local staff speak Spanish, and volunteers have daily opportunities to learn and improve their Spanish through real conversations while working together. At the same time, our staff and community are eager to practice English, so bilingual volunteers can contribute by helping improve language skills. This creates a natural two-way exchange where everyone benefits.
Accommodation
Our 42 acre property contains a 4 story "Jungle Center" which can sleep over 24 people in bunk style dormitory housing. Equipped with 5 showers, 24 beds, wifi, electricity, common spaces, clothes storage, and jungle/mountain views. We have a full time chef and kitchen staff that coordinates 3 healthy meals per day using as many locally sourced ingredients as possible.

What else ...
Our property is about 15 minutes from the town of Quepos and 25 minutes from Manuel Antonio, one of the most popular black parks in Central America. Waterfalls, beach days, river barbecues, hiking, birdwatching, zip lining, mountain trekking, water rafting, meditation, yoga, are just a few activities that you can do in our "backyard."
