Description
!! Before reading, please note that we only accept workawayers that are ready to commit to a full month minimum, thank you !!
Enter the embrace of the forest, where the whispers of ancient knowledge echo through the trees and the spirit of the land calls.
This is a sacred space devoted to the reclamation and preservation of humanity’s ancestral wisdom, a treasure in danger of being lost. Here, we honor the sacred plants as carriers of profound teachings, guardians of balance, and bridges between the seen and unseen worlds.
Our mission extends beyond conservation. We seek to protect not only the native medicinal plants and their habitats but also the stories, ceremonies, and practices they inspire. These teachings, gifted through the guidance of tribal elders, hold the keys to living in harmony with the Earth and one another. Together, we are vessels for this wisdom, entrusted to nurture and share it with future generations.
This sanctuary is a seed of awakening. We aim to empower others to cultivate their own medicinal gardens, becoming stewards of life’s sacred web and guardians of Earth’s spirit. Each plant, each story, is a prayer, a connection to the greater whole, a step toward healing the world.
Since its creation, this space has welcomed over 700 souls who have joined in service, learning, and transformation. For those who feel the call to live in alignment with health, abundance, and service to the Earth, we offer a space to remember, reconnect, and grow.
The path of service is a sacred one, and we honor those who devote their hands and hearts to the betterment of humanity. The teachings we offer are profound, rooted in the wisdom of the Earth, and shared generously with those ready to commit to this journey.
The work here is as varied as the cycles of nature itself, shifting with the seasons and the needs of the sanctuary. Whether cultivating the sacred garden, stewarding the kitchen, or building structures that support our vision, each task is imbued with purpose and an invitation to grow.
In concrete terms, each day brings different kind of work, digging trenches for the rain, chopping wood, cleaning and maintaining the space, sand and varnish, hours of watering, weeding and pruning, processing fresh ingredients, nailing and sweeping are some of the task that are waiting for you. We strongly believe that knowledge is earned through service, to the land and its community.
Are you ready to embark on this transformative journey? Reach out to us, and let us grow together in service, learning, and harmony with the Earth.
*A Space for Dedication, Not Vacation*
It’s important to be clear, this is not a holiday destination. Working in the Costa Rican sun and jungle rains can be challenging. We are adventurers and explorers who understand the power and value of each day spent in service to the land and its wisdom. We also live at the very edge of a virgin forest, so be ready for the broad variety of wild neighbors, monkeys yes, but also snakes, spiders and friends.
Please note that this is an alcool-free space

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
We invite the public to join us in our exploration of medicinal plants, fostering a collective ethic of conservation, land stewardship, and reverence for traditional ecological knowledge. Through this work, we aim to deepen the connection between people and the natural world, preserving the wisdom of the Earth for generations to come.
Our sanctuary is honored to host tribal leaders from across the globe, creating opportunities to share their culture, stories, and teachings. These exchanges not only enrich our understanding but also serve as bridges, strengthening the bonds between diverse communities and indigenous nations.
This ongoing collaboration is a reflection of our commitment to honoring and preserving the profound interconnectedness between humanity and the natural world. By participating in this work, you contribute to a shared vision of respect, learning, and guardianship of the planet’s most precious resources.

Each day brings different kind of work, digging trenches for the rain, chopping wood, cleaning and maintaining the space, sand and varnish, hours of watering, weeding and pruning, processing fresh ingredients, nailing and sweeping are some of the task that are waiting for you. We strongly believe that knowledge is earned through service, to the land and its community.
Serving in the space is more than a role; it is a practice of mindfulness and reciprocity. Each day begins with listening, asking what the space and the land need from us before turning to our own needs and desires. This approach fosters a deep connection and sense of purpose, allowing those who serve with love and intention to unlock an inner transformation that must be experienced to be understood. It often takes a month to fully orient to the space and attune to the land's unique language. This foundational time provides the understanding and grounding necessary to contribute meaningfully to the life of the sanctuary.
This role is for individuals who resonate with the energy and vision of our sanctuary, helping to create a space where plants, people, and purpose flourish together. We ask our volounteers to stay for at least a month for this essential role. Volunteers are encouraged to explore other responsibilities, expanding their connection to the community and its mission.
It’s important to be clear, this is not a holiday destination. Working in the Costa Rican sun and jungle rains can be challenging. We are adventurers and explorers who understand the power and value of each day spent in service to the land and its wisdom.

My Spanish is a gift from the Costa Rican people, taught with patience and understanding. Now, I pass forward this knowledge, honoring the interconnectedness of all things and sharing wisdom for future generations and my lovely partner is a native French-speaker from Switzerland that also speaks English, Spanish and a bit of Portuguese.

*A Sanctuary of Abundance: Living and Learning in Harmony*
We are nestled within a lush landscape of permanent agriculture, offering a level of abundance rarely seen in the world. Our farm thrives as a vibrant testament to nature's generosity, surrounded by an eco-conscious community. Nearby, you’ll find a natural building school and a space dedicated to transformative events.
A 20-minute drive will take you to the beach, while a short walk leads to a serene swimming hole. Some of the region’s most stunning rivers are also easily accessible by car, providing endless opportunities to connect with the natural beauty of this valley. A bus stop is located about 20min walking (hiking, it's steep) from our place and can take you to the beach.
We are deeply honored to host many master plants, revered for their wisdom and spiritual significance. Beyond our devotion to cultivating these sacred species, we invite others to join in the vital work of preserving and perpetuating the legends and teachings they carry.
