  • Description

    Description

Open the door to the sound of the forest.
Our center has hosted more than 300 volunteers since its inception.
We are a group devoted to the rescue and documentation of the vast cultural knowledge before it is lost to the world. We are dedicated to the conservation of native medicinal plants and the natural habitats that support these culturally and ecologically significant species and to inspire and empower others to create medicinal gardens and diversify the guardianship for the health of us as a collective and the greater world around us.

We are only accepting applicants for 1 month placement. The education given to make helping hands helpful is quite extensive. Should you have special talents in botany, mycology, alchemy, or just an awesome chef please apply.

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

We seek to involve the public in our study of medicinal plants and to promote an ethic of conservation, land stewardship and respect for traditional ecological knowledge. We host tribal leaders from across the globe to share their culture and knowledge and have oftentimes performed as a bridge to many indigenous nations.

  • Help

    Help

To mobilize botanical gardens and engage partners in securing plant diversity for the well-being of people and the planet.
Our days will consist of hands-on interaction in the garden. Fruit tree harvesting, pruning and composting care. Making plants happy on a day by day basis. Watering, repotting, etc.
We have the intention to find more long term people to take part in this unique and sacred task.
Great to be clear. This is not a holiday location. Working in the Costa Rican sun can be difficult.

    What else ...

The farm is planted in a beautiful form of permanent agriculture and offers abundance unseen in most places in the world. We are host to many great master plants. Beyond our great devotion to plants, we implore others to join our task to perpetuate and protect the legends each species may hold.
Much of your time will be investing in the food forest in the creation of pure food, medicine and culinary delights.
