We volunteer for a sleddog association on our free time and need you to assist us with some of those tasks. This cultural exchange will allow you to experience Alaska with sleddogs, be part of our mushing family and learn about our northern culture.
You will be sharing your skills and learning from my husband and I about strong athletic dogs, our educational program and more, so have to be fit and strong.
We are a multicultural family and travelled ourselves when younger. We speak several languages and lived in several different continents!
We want you to see Alaska and take this experience back and promote our sport. You will be learning about trail grooming, race organization, equipment handling, feeding, veterinarian care, training canine athletes And of course be part of our sleddog family.
We are Alaskans, we hunt, fish and respect our land. We are only looking for volunteers who can stay for a longer period of time.
You will be with us about 3-5 hours a day during the mushing season and less during summer time.
We have been part of the Workaway family for 6 years now and had young enthusiasts from Argentina, Germany, Scotland, Russia, France, Australia, Italy, Spain, Canada, Ireland and Switzerland,…and had wonderful experiences during their stays in last 6 years, many of them come back to revisit!
If you're excited to connect with nature, learn new skills, and be part of a dynamic community, we’d love to hear from you!
