  Hi! My name is Nicky, a 30-year-old Dutch entrepreneur who embarked on a new adventure in 2020. I proudly present to you a heavenly oasis nestled in the lush green valley of Garfagnana, Tuscany where I have created a luxurious glamping and camping destination. But what sets us apart is the perfect combination of high-quality glamping and camping experiences with an authentic farm setting, complete with adorable animals. The focus is on the Dutch market, which means that 90% of the guests come from the Netherlands. Beside the glamping and camping there is also a very cosy loungebar and a good restaurant on the property. I live at this idyllic location next to the river the Serchio together with my sheep, horses, dogs, cats and chickens. The place to be for animal lovers!

  I can share with you my vision on running a business and taking care of animals and how I combine these two as a Agriturismo. I can tell you everything about running a camping and glamping, the life in Italy and my vision on ''living your work''. Additionally, I can learn you some Dutch.
  
  The Garfagnana is a green area not yet discovered by tourists. You will feel completely at home here if you love nature, animals, hiking and swimming in the river.
  
  Our location is a 5-10 minute walk from the train station which gives you the opportunity to visit cities such as Lucca, Pisa and Florence. The village center of Camporgiano is about a 15 minute walk away. There you will find several bars, restaurants and a supermarket.
  
  During the summer there are many cultural activities in the area that are definitely worth a visit.

  Host has indicated that they will pay at least the minimum hourly wage of their country for each hour worked and that accommodation will also be provided.   We think it is very important that we have a team we can count on. We help each other where necessary and where extra hands are needed. It is therefore not possible to apply for one specific task, but below is a general summary of the positions that are still open for the 2024 season:
  
  - All-rounders (preferably a couple): you can be deployed anywhere and you enjoy everything equally. You have experience working in a restaurant/bar and you know what hospitality means. Daily cleaning work, help with check in and check out and working in the restaurant are the tasks you will carry out. A big plus if you are a handyman. Period: 1 May - 1 October (shorter period is not possible).
  
  - Waiter/waitress (preferably a couple): You have sufficient experience workin in a restaurant or bar, you are open minded and you enjoy spoiling our guests. You speak English and Italian (this is must). Period: end of May - beginning of October (shorter period is not possible).
  
  - Handymen: We are looking for strong men to help to break down the campsite from the beginning of October. You have experience with connecting water and electricity, easy carpentry and a lot of carrying work. +/- 2 weeks, depending on the weather).
  
  - Experienced sheep shearer: I am looking for someone who can shear all our sheep in May. You must have sufficient experience. We have small, very mobile sheep. All equipment is present.
  
  What we think is important:
  You are enthusiastic, representative, proactive and flexible. You have a great sense of responsibility, you can work independently, you don't have a 9-5 mentality and you always have a smile on your face :-) We are looking for people who know how to get things done and who are eager to help us take the company to the next level. Pampering guests is in your blood. It is hot here in the summer and the work can be tough. It is important that you can handle this and are in good physical condition.
  
  I hope you haven't dropped out yet because now comes the fun part of a workaway with me :-) Besides the work there is plenty of time to explore the area, relax by the pool or the river, make a beautiful hike or enjoy our sauna and hot tub. You can use all facilities (if available) and there is a lot of room for flexibility (if the work allows this) if you want to get away for a few days for example.
  
  In addition to the help we receive from workawayers, we also employ a few permanent local employees who help us in the garden and in the restaurant.

  Accommodation

  We have a brilliant place where all workawayers can stay. Place your own camping equipment there or use one of our caravans or tents in the middle of the forest (but close to the campsite). A wonderful place to sit together, have diner and listen or make music because no one will bother you. There is a fully equipped outdoor kitchen and sanitary unit with a toilet, sink, hot shower and washing machine.

  Our location is situated in the green Garfagnana valley. You can easily visit Lucca, Pisa and Florence by train. The train station is within walking distance from our site. There are endless hiking and mountain biking trails nearby. With sufficient experience you can help with riding the horses.
