    Description

    Hello beautiful people! 🌎✨

We are a Costa Rica–based project creating immersive international experiences that bring people together through gastronomy, culture, and meaningful human connection.

Our events are a vibrant blend of international cuisine, storytelling, music, rituals, and cultural exchange. We believe food is a universal language, and we love creating spaces where people from different backgrounds can connect around the table.

We are currently based in two beautiful locations in Costa Rica:
•A viewpoint in the mountains of San Ramón
    • An eco-project in Pital

Depending on the event schedule, you may be working in San Ramón, Pital, or sometimes both locations.

We are a small, family-style team that truly values cultural exchange, languages, different worldviews, and shared experiences. If you enjoy creativity, community, nature, and meaningful connections, you will feel at home with us.

We can’t wait to welcome you to our table 🌿🍽️✨

  • Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

La Mesa Nómada is a Costa Rican family-founded project, and cultural exchange is truly at the heart of everything we do.

Because we are a nomadic project, your experience may begin in San Ramón and continue in Pital, or you may stay in one location depending on the events taking place. This dynamic structure allows you to experience different regions, landscapes, and rhythms of Costa Rican life.

As a volunteer, you will be surrounded by Costa Rican people in a deeply cultural and family-oriented environment. You won’t just be helping at events — you will become part of our extended family network across the country.

    - Through this exchange, travellers can:
    - Learn about Costa Rican traditions, gastronomy, and daily life
    - Improve or practice Spanish through real immersion
    - Share their own language, recipes, and cultural perspectives
    - Gain hands-on experience in event organization and hospitality
    - Experience authentic local living beyond tourism

We love gathering around the table, cooking together, and having long conversations about culture, travel, food, and life. Many of our family members are passionate about nature, history, and guiding, so we’re always happy to share tips, hidden spots, and local knowledge.

Our goal is not just collaboration — it’s connection. By the end of your stay, we hope you won’t feel like a volunteer, but like part of La Mesa Nómada.

📍 San Ramón – Mountain Home

In San Ramón, we offer a spacious shared room with two beds and a private bathroom for our Workawayers (limited spots available).

You will have access to a shared kitchen where we love cooking and sharing meals together. Food is an important part of our project, so we often exchange recipes and flavors from different cultures.

Nature is all around us — there are coffee plantations, forests, rivers, lagoons, and waterfalls nearby. At the same time, you are close to the town of San Ramón, where you can enjoy local culture, cafés, and the wonderful farmer’s market.

It’s the perfect balance between mountains, community, and town life.

    🌳 Pital – Eco-Project Experience

In Pital, you will stay in a spacious family home within our eco-project. We have comfortable rooms for volunteers, shared spaces, a kitchen, and a beautiful terrace overlooking the forest.

Here, nature is part of your daily life. You’ll wake up to birds, see different animals in the backyard, and maybe even spot howler monkeys or a sloth nearby.

There is a small forest trail that leads to a creek surrounded by incredible plant species. You can also take a bike to a nearby river or simply relax on the terrace, enjoying the sounds of the jungle.

This location is ideal for those who want to deeply connect with nature, simplicity, and a slower rhythm of life.

  • What else ...

    What else ...

You can stay at the project on your time off, we recommend you go to San Ramon, Esparza and Puntarenas for a quick day out, but as we are located in a centric place of Costa Rica you can move by bus everywhere in the country, we can help you! Also we charge a small fee if you want someone from the project to take you shopping or just to leave you at the bus stop in San Ramon. Also there are some highlights near our house and you can see waterfalls, coffee plantations, trapiche visits, the famous farmers market from San Ramon and much more! Just ask!

Please note that we are not giving three meals a day. I will give bread and cereal for your breakfast and you will cost the other meals! Also we can cook together some costarican dishes!
