    Description

In 1987 my late husband and I bought a 47 acres mountain top of virgin subtropical rain forest. The vision was and is to create a place where between the beauty of nature and the beauty of my husband's marble sculptures, peace becomes reality. Our Phoenix Sculpture Garden on Mount Glorious (1 hr drive NW of Brisbane, Queensland, Australia) is open to the public every Sunday, I host sound meditations, concerts, guided tours and workshops.

The next shop is 20min drive away in Samford, there is no public transport on the mountain, so you can expect a quiet, peaceful, monastic kind of time. There is a cafe in 20min walking distance. The mountain community has a hall where there are monthly table tennis nights and monthly music nights, daily exercise classes and other such activities. There are walking tracks in beautiful Maiala National Park. You can join me every Saturday to do the 5km Park Run in Samford.
Graham used marble and onyx from all over the world in his work and we deeply believe that the beauty and peace that is here flows back to their countries of origin. It would be an absolute delight to work with people from all over our beautiful planet to enhance our vision of connecting the world in peace and good will through their support.

  • Help

    Help

Since my husband's death in 2022 I have been maintaining the garden pretty much on my own, but I realize that more work is needed to counteract the deterioration of some of our landscaping structures. Some pavers need to be lifted and leveled, sleepers replaced, gravel paths freshened up and work of that kind. And some help with the ongoing upkeep like leaf blowing, mowing, whipper snipping would be very welcome. So I am looking for a single person, handy, able and strong to help with those tasks. Some projects we will do together, some on your own.

    Accommodation

You will be staying in a 4m high sealed and freshly renovated tree house with electricity, a single bed, a desk, table and chair. Access is via a ladder. You will have your own bathroom on ground level and you will be sharing my kitchen and lounge. I will provide what you need for breakfast and lunch and I will cook for us in the evening.

    What else ...

It would be advantageous to have your own car. I can pick you up from the train station (Ferny Grove, 30 min from here), but once you are on the mountain, monastery it is.
Telstra seems to have the best phone connection. Others can be patchy.
