    Description

Olá.I’m Andrea and since 10 years my two daughters and I living in the (almost) middle of nowhere in Alentejo/Portugal.
We are surrounded by nature (5 km off grid road to the nearest village), living with the elements and the rhythm of Mother Earth.
This means there are times when we can't keep up with the work and times of rest.

My dream is to transform the land on which I (we) live into a blooming oasis.
In addition to caring for the land, this also includes my 💚 project: a little women retreat house.
With it, I want to create a space, a place for women where they can simply BE and where we can simultaneously deepen our connection – each individually, together and for the benefit of all.
I want to create an understanding of the simplicity of life and how this creates space for self-love and connection 🌟

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

What I can give you, is a little insight into what it means to live self-sufficiently while being embedded in a community that has grown organically, consisting of Portuguese villagers and people from all over the world who live a similar lifestyle.

Every Wednesday there is a lovely traditional chicken-eating (if you eat meat). It’s a nice spot because there’re always a variety of people.

In the village and around there are many people offering yoga, Pilates, breathwork, different kinds of massages etc.

There are also different markets (flea markets and traditional ones) which is always nice to meet people.

I think the most wonderful benefit if you can learn here is to see how many different cultures live in a good way together.

  • Help

    Help

The help here is very varied: tending the vegetable garden, pruning and planting trees, preparing firewood, landscaping, little things to repair for the house , etc.

We can do things together but it’s also fine if you enjoy it more doing things by your own. It’s not hard tasks but often there is a third helping hand missing.
I’m always happy to give my knowledge (gardening, making soaps, destilate flowers etc.) and also I’m looking forward to learn new things.

  • Accommodation

    Accommodation

During your stay with us, you are invited to stay in our little caravan with a small porch, which can also be heated if necessary.

Basic food is always available and vegetables are harvested seasonally from the garden.
As I myself take great care to buy only the most essential food items from the supermarket, you would have to pay for your own "treats".

  • What else ...

    What else ...

There are two beautiful lakes nearby and the sea is 35 km away as the crow flies (but it takes 1 1/2 hours to drive there 😄).

If you enjoy hiking, there are many options here, such as the Rota Vinzentina.

The Santa Clara/Sabóia train station is 10 km away, with trains to Faro or Lisbon running three times a day.
There is also the option of taking the bus to Odemira.

As I feel very connected to this land and I pour all the water I use directly onto the trees, it is essential to use only biodegradable shampoos/soaps.
Water is also very scarce in summer, which is why conscious water use is important!!!
