Description
I have lived in inland Valencia for 20 years, I have a good mix of Spanish and English friends.
Young at heart looking for some extra hands to get some tasks in the garden and house done.
Non smokers, sociable (but also ok to have my own space & give you yours).
Happy to accommodate vegetarian diets especially happy if you cook , love trying new food.
Love (and miss) humour.
Love any live music, board games, walking, hiking, dancing, village fiestas, very much into the local spanish community.
Off grid living but with great solar system so not like glamping!!! -

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
My partner is Spanish so we generally speak Spanish at home although we watch TV in English with Spanish subtitles. We generally have a Mediterranean diet, not big meat eaters and Spanish eating times but plans are made to be changed! We are sociable, caring, happy people with open minds to live and learn.
I am very much a part of my village life, I can help integrate you into the day to day life a spanish culture, the fiestas and the sietas!
This is how i learnt Spanish and I can help you learn Spanish too. -
Help
Weeding and clearing of large garden. Scraping walls ready to paint or render, painting, small rendering areas.
Small DIY/maintenance tasks around outside of house/garden.
Help cut trees back (shears or loppers only).
Some general maintenance in house (if your skills allow, I have the knowledge, I just don't have the strength in my arms anymore). Interior wall painting (and art if you want in my art studio) it´s all white so cutting-in skills not needed ☺.
Also considering a dog sitting service for my 3 fur babies, they keep themselves really, just need food and water and poop scooping duties.
Some or all of the above! -

Accommodation
We can offer a single or double private room and share the rest of the house. We have two bathrooms, a large kitchen, dinning room, living room, large covered terrace and (too big) garden. We could be possibly provide a private living room if you were staying for a long time.
We are open to talk about board, we can come to an agreement on this depending on which work you are coming to do. We are always open to a new chef in the house!
I generally et the Mediterranean times, 14:00 and after 20:00 and I'm happy to cook extra for you. I´m new to this so not sure how the food/cooking works. I am more than happy for you to cook for me too as I love trying new recipes. I am happy to pay for food as long as you are not too demanding and want steak and Chianti every night... lets talk! -
What else ...
We are strictly a non smoking house. We don't have rules as such (I don't think) just that I am a bit OCD on silly things like where crockery goes, things being put in their place, nothing too mad but want you to know.
We live in a very beautiful part of the world, on the edge of a cliff, near a cave, waterfall and lake to swim in. The village is an easy 15/20 minutes walk to shops, bars, restaurants, bus stop to towns and city and of course meeting locals & the wonderful village life, lots of fiestas too! The downside to this is you might need transport if you are not a walker.
We live off grid, but you wouldn't know it, only in the winter when we have to be a bit careful with electricity use, most of the year we live like any other household but just conscious of turning lights and appliances off and when we do washing etc. -

Space for parking camper vans
Plenty of fenced in place to stay. We can hook you up to our solar if you are careful not to overuse on cloudy days. We are very open to house swapping as I am a closet camper and eager to try before I buy.

Can possibly accept pets
Your dogs are welcome if needs be, our two big dogs are dog friendly, our little old boy (16) gets the hump with doggie visitors but it's no problem.
