Description
I fell in love with the beach life in Shimoda and moved here when I was 23.
I was born in Osaka, and my wife was born in Tokyo.
We are now a family of four, living by the sea with our 5-year-old son and infant daughter, and we feel very happy living in Shimoda!
- The reason why we made the guesthouse ourselves. -
We want to create a place where people who love the sea, nature and travel can come together here in Izu Shimoda!
To make that dream come true, we renovated and finally completed it!
I want to tell visitors from all over the world about the beauty of Shimoda, especially those who come to Japan from all over the world to see the ocean.
Once you've visited, you'll want to come back again, in a guest house with that kind of space.

Shimoda is a historic city and one of the first places in Japan to open to the world.
It’s a lively tourist town, especially in the summer.
With its clear waters, it’s a great place for surfers, divers, and anyone who loves the ocean and nature.
My wife and I also love surfing!
We also got into fishing last year, and now we truly believe that Shimoda is an ideal place for fishing.

We are hiring staff to work at both our cafe and guesthouse.
We are looking for staff with barista/food service experience and Japanese language skills.

・Check-in duties are also included. English is used frequently, but Japanese is required.
・Support is available for staff who are interested in improving their Japanese.
・Minimum stay is 6 weeks.
Extensions are possible upon request, depending on availability and skills.
・My goal is for people to enjoy working and having fun at my guesthouse and cafe, experience Shimoda's great things like I
did, and enjoy having interactions with my guests.
・We are looking for people who are serious and responsible about their work, enjoy meeting and interacting with guests, and
are able to consistently maintain a clean and tidy environment.
・The guesthouse is on a hill, and the building has stairs only (no elevator).
You may need to help guests carry their luggage. If you are physically fit, this will not be an issue.

What else ...
・The beach is right in front of the guesthouse (It's a good place for snorkeling), and the town is just a short walk away. It's easy to go to the beach during your break or after work. There are many good restaurants and supermarkets in the town. We are located in a convenient location for working even without a car.
・The Izu Peninsula, where Shimoda is located, is large and full of nature. It might be a good idea to travel to the west side too!
