Every once in a while the universe places the right person in your life, Mélanie has been that person for me at this point and time.
Through Workaway my wife and I ask for maintenance help on our island property and when Mélanie contacted me I had never considered seeking anyone who would help me get my design business marketing on track, an

Melanie has now given me new direction and a positive mind-set to move forward with my business and I cannot thank her enough for the work she has done. She took the time to understand my business, my clients, my competition and set me up and show me what I needed to do. It is now up to me to take her work and make it work for me –no pressure, ha-ha.
Mélanie is a very conscientious and organised worker. She stayed with us for a couple of months or so and being a vegan was not a financial challenge to feed in any way. She lived both in our Auckland and Kawau Island homes and looked after the houses very well, on 2 occasions preparing our island home ready for incoming guests which she did an immaculate job of. She made the most of what the island environment had to offer; walking in the bush, kayaking with dolphins, being with nature and even spotted a kiwi in the wild.
On top of everything Mélanie has a very good sense of humour and will remind you that every day is a good day.
Kate and I really enjoyed hosting Mélanie and we wish her all the very best with her life’s next adventures and forever into the future.

Kate and Michael are very nice people and great hosts; it is easy to get along with them. I have enjoyed my time with them from start to finish. They really made me feel welcomed right away, in their homes and in New Zealand. I have shared some delicious meals with them and felt like I was at a restaurant thanks to their great cooking skills. They

Indie, their dog, is super cute and fun, I have loved living with her, and also enjoyed Zazie's visits, the neighbour's dog.
Kawau island is a piece of paradise: full of wonderful wildlife and beautiful nature, quiet and peaceful. The house is amazing and the views all around are gorgeous. You can go on walks, go kayaking, do yoga, go swimming, etc. I have also spent time in their nice home in Auckland because I stayed a long time, which was nice to be able to discover the city and meet new people.
In terms of tasks, I mostly helped Michael with the marketing of his business. Improved the content of his website and his SEO (meta titles and descriptions, etc.), built an Instagram strategy, wrote social media posts, gave him some tips, designed a few stuff, etc. It was nice to be able to help him and now I can't wait to see him fly on his own and succeed!
It was a very great first experience in New Zealand and I totally recommend this Workaway!
