    Description

Hello travellers to New Zealand. We are Michael and Kate and are the proud owners and custodians of this beautiful coastal property.
The house is built directly above the sea and has beautiful ocean and sunset views. The island has very few roads and only one small shop so it is a complete experience with the natural landscape and the sea.

The island is a unique island covered in regenerating native New Zealand forest. There are very few roads meaning that once you are on the island you are fully immersed in the natural environment. This makes for a truly authentic experience with nature amongst the trees and by the sea.
The project we are doing is assisting the native forest restoration by manually controlling weeds, clearing and preparing areas for planting shrubs and trees. Through our project we protect, restore and enhance the natural environment encouraging the biodiversity of the island.
We will meet you and take you over to the island and introduce you to the most suitable task depending on your experience. We will stay and do tasks with you but not necessarily for the whole time, in which case you will be left to do tasks by yourselves and manage your own time to do tasks and play, explore the island either by walking or kayaking.
You will learn about life on an offshore island and a special New Zealand environment, the vision for the island and the challenges. I have hosted guests before and have always enjoyed their company and finding out about where they come from and their lives.

A beautiful island coastal property of 1/2 hectare covered in regenerating native vegetation. Weeds and fallen branches are inhibiting the growth of young plants and need to be removed. Some small landscape projects are available and also interior tasks like cleaning or painting are welcome for those with the necessary skills. The work is ideally suited for 2 or more people as we often leave the island and people to manage their own food and work time.
