    Description

Welcome to a peaceful and charming one-of-a-kind old house close to the forest - the perfect place to let your thoughts and creativity roam free. Renovated with love, laughter, and a touch of humor by friends and family, this home carries a warm and personal spirit.

Outside, you'll find a large, sun-drenched garden with cozy spots, surrounded by wildflowers and tall grass. Created by and for artists, this is a place for those who long to reconnect with themselves and share moments with others.

Our house dates back to 1926 and was originally a hus - a community house - complete with a banquet hall and stage that once hosted local dances and concerts. Today, the house is still a work in progress, lovingly brought back to life with freshly renovated rooms and charming, creative details throughout. Our greatest source of inspiration is the beautiful films and color palettes of the American filmmaker Wes Anderson.

Our house is a thriving to be a place where creative souls meet. Inside, you’ll find a small stage, two pianos, a photo studio setup, and easels, making it the perfect space to explore your hobbies or artistic passions. Whether you're into music, painting, photography, or simply enjoy being in a creative environment, you're warmly invited to bring your talents, curiosity, and ideas. We also have a projector for cozy movie nights or screenings, and plenty of space for spontaneous jam sessions, art-making, or quiet reflection. If you’ve ever dreamed of having time and space to focus on a personal project, or just experiment and play, this could be the place for you.

As a family of photographers, makers, and DIY enthusiasts, we love exchanging knowledge, skills, and inspiration. Whether it’s learning how to use a camera, work with wood, paint a mural, or collaborate on creative ideas, we’re always excited to teach and learn from others. We value curiosity, initiative, and a shared spirit of creativity. This is a place for cultural exchange, connection, and collaboration, where your contributions matter, and your creativity is welcome.

  • Help

    Help

This is a family-led project, we’re looking for enthusiastic people to help out around the property. We’re especially excited to welcome those who are passionate about old houses and have skills in DIY, woodworking, painting (indoors and outdoors), or gardening. One of our dreams is to create small "rooms" built from windows in the forest around the house, and we’d be thrilled to have your help bringing that vision to life. We work alongside local builders who handle the larger construction tasks, while we focus on the smaller projects - and we’d love for you to join us in this collaborative effort with friends, neighbors, and other volunteers to help shape this unique and creative space.

If you’re creative, there are even more ways to get involved - from creating outdoor art and painting murals on our old barn to helping us with land art installations throughout our forest. We have a vision but are open to your ideas about how this place could envolve and look.

You will work alongside us on projects that match your interests and skills, whether it’s creative work, practical help, or simply lending a hand where needed. Work is about four hours a day, with flexible timing so you can plan your day as it suits you.

    Accommodation

You’ll have your own bedroom, and we’ll provide all the bedding you need.

Our house has a cozy, shared kitchen where you’re welcome to cook whenever you like. You’ll have your own shelf in the fridge for personal groceries. We provide bread and basic breakfast items plus basic cooking ingredients to help you make the meals you want. You’ll be responsible for any additional food you’d like. There’s no strict meal schedule - you’re free to cook and eat at the times that suit you best. While we don’t have set shared meals every day, we’re open to eating together whenever it feels natural. From time to time, we also host casual meals or barbecues with local friends and neighbors, and you’re always welcome to join in.

When we have visitors or travelers staying in the house, we stay in another house nearby. This gives you privacy and space to enjoy the house fully, while still keeping us close by. We come by every day to work on the house and various ongoing projects, and we're often around for meals, conversations, or just spending time together. We’re always nearby if you need anything, and we love the informal, community feeling that comes from working, creating, and sharing space together.
