Description
Namaste! :)
We are a chosen german-indian family of six (2 adults, 1 child, 2 dogs & 1 cat), living in a small village in lower Himachal.
The village is beautifully surrounded by mountains and very quiet.
You'll only hear the birds sing, dogs barking and the village works.
There's a maid coming to the house daily, doing some house works and preparing food for us (and you), who's also part of the family.
We do own some land that we're planning to turn into farmland, to be able to grow our own vegetables and fruits.
Additionally, we would like to turn our home into a meeting space for travelers from around the world, where they'll have a place to relax and feel at home away from home.
We have many ideas, but less experience - so if you'd be interested in contributing to our project, spending time with our lovely dogs and a young child, we'd be happy to host you. :)Types of help and learning opportunities

You can learn about the Indian (or German) culture, improve your Hindi (English or German) and interact with the locals.
In that way you can learn about the local culture and village life.
You can learn to cook Indian dishes.
We're also up to sharing our other skills with you (how to work online, crafting, ...) or share our traveling stories from around the world.
On weekends we love to take you along to our friend's places or go on longer trips to other places in Himachal. :)
We love to learn about your culture - the language, the life, the food and love to hear your travel stories. :)Projects involving children
This project could involve children. For more information see our guidelines and tips here.
Help
There are multiple things we would love your help with, as there's quite a lot to do over here. :)
1. Spending time with our dogs
If you're an animal, and especially dogs, lover, we would love you to come and spend time with our two beautiful dogs.
They're one German shepherd dog (Hukum) and one Indian mixed village dog (Rustam). Both of them are roaming in and around the house freely, love to cuddle and play.
You'd be taking them for a walk twice a day, prepare their food, play with them or maybe teach them some tricks and most important, build a strong relationship to them.
We would love you to stay for a longer period of time, so at one point you may be able to stay at home alone with them. As all of us love to travel, we're always in need of someone to take care of the dogs while we're away.
This work is most important to us. :)
2. Field works
As we're planning to turn our land into farmland, so we can grow our own vegetables and fruits, we need people who are interested in working on the land.
You'd be preparing the soil, digging the ground, planting, growing, watering and taking care of the plants.
You could either help us and another local person working or just start your own small garden project, if you have a great idea you'd like to try.
As we're only starting, we would love to have a person who's experienced in gardening/farming.
3. Spending time with/teaching my child
If you love to spend time with children, you may love to spend some time with my son. He's 5 years old, wild, funny and very interesting to talk to. We're traveling since he's 2 years old, so he got a few stories to tell.
He speaks German fluently and is learning English himself right now, even some words in Hindi.
As there's a lot to do over here (and I'm working online, too) I'd love someone to spend time with him while I'm occupied.
You could play with him inside or outside, do craftings, teach him some interesting things (or getting teached some interesting things by him), share your culture with him - whatever the both of you are up to. :)
4. House works
We're growing a lot of flowers around the house, that need to be taken care of. The house has to be kept clean, as with animals and humans walking in and outside the house all of the time, it will get dirty all of the time.
So if you're more of a house keeping person, you can also help with these kind of things.
And last but not least - we're always open for new ideas.
So we're happy to listen to your ideas and to see if we're able to make it happen. :)
Besides that, we would love you to just relax in our beautiful home, make music, arts, crafts, whatever you love to do in life. :)Languages

You'll have your own room with a bed.
The washroom and kitchen are shared with us.
If you prefer to sleep in a tent, we're happy to provide you with one or if you're traveling with your own tent, show you places to set it up.
We'll provide you with at least two vegetarian meals a day.
You're always free to use the kitchen if you want to prepare some food for yourself, but as all of us are vegetarian/vegan, no meat is allowed to be prepared in the house. What else ...
Our village is located in lower Himachal. As we're the first hill after the plains it is quite warm over here (in summer's it's very hot).
The next bigger places are Kasauli or Chandigarh. Most weekends we're spending in Kasauli, as we do have a lot of friends over there. We're happy to take you along, if you want to.
You can also continue your travels to other places in Himachal from here - for example to Bir, Baghsu, Dharamsala or Parvati Valley. If you need help planning, we're always there to help you out.A little more information
Internet access
Limited internet access
We have pets
We are smokers
Can host families
Can host digital nomads
I myself am working online and it works quite well, but sometimes the connection can be unstable or even be totally gone for a day.
Space for parking camper vans
We may be able to provide you with a parking space, but the last half mile of the road to the village is quite bumpy, so you're only able to reach the village with a small camper/4x4. Not with a normal motorhome/caravan, as it's a sandy/muddy village road.
