    🌎 Hello! I’m Evelin — Welcome! 🙂

I’m Evelin, and I’m looking for friendly and responsible travelers who would like to help either at my hostel or at my home in Arequipa.

🏨 A) ABOUT VOLUNTEERING AT MY HOSTEL

I run a small hostel that truly feels like home. Our goal is to create a warm, relaxed, and friendly environment where guests feel more like friends than customers. Our team is one of our greatest strengths — together we create a welcoming atmosphere where everyone feels comfortable, included, and part of the family.

We are looking for volunteers who are:

    ✨ Friendly
    ✨ Proactive
    ✨ Respectful
    ✨ Clean and organized
✨ Open to sharing experiences with people from different cultures

    🌿 What the Hostel Offers

    Our hostel includes:

🍳 Fully equipped kitchen for guests and volunteers
    📶 Free Wi-Fi
    📺 TV room with Netflix
    🎱 Pool table
    🏓 Ping-pong table
    ⚽ Foosball table
🌸 Cozy garden perfect for relaxing or working remotely

⏰ Help required: approximately 20 hours per week (sometimes even less).
    📅 Minimum stay: 2 weeks.

    ✨ Tasks and Responsibilities

We are currently looking for volunteers in the following areas:

    🧹 1) Housekeeping Volunteer

    Tasks may include:

✅ Kitchen cleaning during breakfast hours
    ✅ Making beds
    ✅ Cleaning windows
    ✅ Light gardening
    ✅ Sweeing and mopping

⚠️ Please note: this does not include deep cleaning, as we already have staff responsible for major cleaning tasks.

These tasks are not done every day and are rotated among volunteers to maintain a fair and balanced workload.

🛎️ Responsibilities may include a 4-hour weekly reception shift, depending on hostel needs.

    📸 2) Content Creation & Video Volunteer

    Perfect for creative travelers!

    Responsibilities include:

🎥 Creating videos and photos about hostel life and the experience of visiting Arequipa.
📱 Producing engaging social media content showing activities, guests, and local adventures.

Experience with photography, video editing, or social media platforms is highly appreciated.

    🧘‍♀️ 3) Yoga Volunteer

    This role includes:

🌞 Teaching yoga classes five mornings per week for guests and volunteers.

We are looking for instructors who can create welcoming and inclusive sessions for different experience levels.

Yoga volunteers may also support other hostel activities when needed to complete the 20 weekly volunteer hours, such as:

    Light housekeeping support

    Reception assistance

⚠️ Important: If two friends or a couple apply together, it may not always be possible to assign the same schedules or shifts.

🎁 What We Offer in Exchange

In exchange for your help, we offer:

🛏️ Accommodation in a shared 3-bed volunteer dormitory
    🍳 Daily breakfast
    🧺 Laundry service included
🧘‍♀️ Yoga classes every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 11:00 a.m.
🌋 Discounts on local tours so you can explore the amazing surroundings of Arequipa.

🌟 Who We Are Looking For

We are looking for motivated and positive travelers who enjoy being part of a team and contributing to a friendly hostel environment.

    We value volunteers who:

✅ Work efficiently during their shifts
    ✅ Are reliable and committed
    ✅ Take initiative
    ✅ Communicate openly
    ✅ Respect shared spaces

If you enjoy meeting people from different cultures, sharing good energy, and helping create a welcoming atmosphere — you will feel right at home with us 🙂.

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

Interact and enjoy cultural exchange with people from around the world. Explore Arequipa, which embodies a rich mix of the indigenous and Spanish colonial cultures. With 468 years of history since its founding, examples of Spanish colonial architecture can be found throughout the center of the city and several surrounding districts. UNESCO has declared it Human Heritage site. Catholic churches are scattered throughout the center of the city. Some ancient houses have been refurbished by the local authorities and serve as living museums. An example of this are the so-called "Tambos" located at Puente Bolognesi street.

    What else ...

The city is part of the so called "Southern Peru Tourist Corridor", together with Nazca, Puno and Cusco. In contrast to these other cities, Arequipa is an example of the Spanish and mestizo culture developed in Peru. There are no Inca artifacts or ruins in the city.
In the winter it is warmer than in the summer. It is nicknamed the 'white city' (la ciudad blanca, in Spanish), because many of the buildings in the area are built of sillar, a white stone. This rock was quarried from the many volcanoes that surround the city, including the towering El Misti. Ask for local help to identify Misti, Chachani and PichuPichu, the three volcanoes surrounding the city.
Arequipa is a city in the Southern Coastal region of Peru just below the edge of the Altiplano, at 2380 meters above sea level and surrounded by three impressive volcanoes. It's Peru's second most important city (after Lima), and the second most popular among tourists (after Cuzco).
