Description
I already have my flights booked to Lima for January 2025 and return to the UK towards the end of March. This will be my first time in South America and I'm really looking forward to everything Peru has to offer. I spent the beginning of this year in Rwanda and Uganda and thoroughly enjoyed my time there, helping out at a school and also at a foundation for teenage mothers which was highly rewarding. My time in Zambia the year before was incredibly rewarding too, the children were a delight to teach and always had a smile on their faces. I have also volunteered in Trinidad and have returned five times as I made so many friends! Botswana saw me helping out at a backpackers in the most wonderful setting and I certainly saw the surrounding area as I travelled with some of the guests with the blessing of the owner. My volunteering in the UK saw me looking after a lovely gentleman with Parkinsons on the stunning Isle of Skye, helping a busy couple in Essex and working with a great family in the Cotswolds at the family pub. I’m more than happy to help in a bar, restaurant, kitchen (either domestic or commercial,) with any childcare and housework and anything else that needs doing. I have worked for numerous years in education and the hospitality industry and enjoy talking to people and giving the best customer service possible. I’m very easy going, get along with people of all ages, am flexible with volunteering hours and don't mind if plans are changed last minute. I'm
always happy to help with a smile on my face and try to go that extra mile. Making others happy makes me happy.

I brought up four children, all of whom are now grown up and I have two grandchildren that live near by.
I’ve managed a sandwich bar and coffee shop, been a waitress and worked behind several bars, including managing a private club where I was responsible for the day to day running of the premises.

I love playing board games and card games. I enjoy watching films, listening to music and visiting places of interest but am equally happy with peace and quiet. I really like talking to people and finding out about their lives. I’m a good organiser.
I like to cook with fresh ingredients and learn different recipes. I’m also interested in art and history.
I learned British Sign Language some years ago so would probably pick that up quickly again.

I spent over 3 weeks at this rustic environmentally friendly camp and enjoyed every minute. The engaging guests together with Rupert were without doubt the highlight of my stay. As soon as I arrived, Lotte, Miles, their family and all the staff made me very welcome. I felt very comfortable living in the flat with them and enjoyed the casual way they live their lives. No walking on eggshells here!

Wow, wow, wow!
This authentic experience exceeded all my expectations and I really did feel like part of the farm and beyond. Moruga is in the south of the island in an unspoilt part of the countryside where few if any tourists venture.
