    Description

We are living in Montpellier, a beautiful city in south of France. It's sunny, lively, and super welcoming. Just a quick hop from the sea, it mixes old medieval streets, big lively squares, and a warm, easy-going vibe. The famous Place de la Comédie sets the tone — cafés, people everywhere, and the historic center right behind, full of cool shops, artists, and beautiful old buildings.

We are Mathilda (27) Guillaume (34), and Basile our little baby born in June.
We live in 2 appartments separated with a door, we live in the side with a garden, you will have your own appartment on the other side for sleeping, with your own kitchen, toilets and bathroom.

Guillaume loves cooking, gardening and tinker, Mathilda loves baking, and do creative stuff like pottery & crochet. We love go outside for a walk, hiking sometimes or biking in Montpellier, and we could share with you our hobbies ! We love learn new things, activities and we have a lot of thing to do in Montpellier !

We have one cat named Puma 🐱, he is really affective but shy at first, and 2 hens in our garden : Cacao and Caramel, they are also lovely but sometimes they remember they were dinosaurs before 🐔 They are lovely too you can pet them.

For the moment Basile is really young so we can host for one week or 10 days max.

We can't wait to welcome you, we have been workawayers too and it was a wonderfull experience. So we want to try it as host now :)

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

We are former Workaway volunteers ourselves, so we speak English quite well, but if you’d like to learn French, we can speak only French with you if needed.

We’ve had amazing experiences as volunteers and now we’d love to offer the same in return! We’d be happy to share recipes, ways of living, or even help each other learn a language. We’d love to get to know your passions, discover new ones, and share ours (Mathilda actually discovered crocheting during a Workaway in Canada). That’s exactly the kind of meaningful exchange we’d like to recreate.

With Basile's arrival we don't have enought time (and energy) so we will ask you to cook sometimes, help us to tidy up and clean the house. You’ll also get to do some small tasks with Guillaume : DIY, gardening, small building projects,...

For the summer, you could also help us with the garden : set up the vegetable garden, plant veggies, and look after the garden (with Guillaume who really enjoy doing this). We have 2 hens, maybe we can ask you to take care of them and their house.

I think some days will be more productive than others, we want you to take time for you as well, to visit the city, go to the sea or whatever you want to do ! We’re flexible, so you can do the tasks you enjoy the most ! You can easily move in Montpellier with the tram, buses and if you need we can lend you our bikes. We have a car and we can also drive you somewhere, we have beautiful cities around !

FOR THE END OF THE YEAR
We are looking for someone who could help Guillaume excavate our cellar to enlarge it for one week / 10 days. It is rather physical and intense work; the 5 hours of labor will likely be condensed in the morning so that the afternoon remains free. 1 or 2 voluteers are welcomed :)
