Description
About Us
Welcome to Quinta =, a unique guesthouse and retreat space nestled in the green hills of Monchique, Portugal.
Our home is a lovingly restored 19th-century manor house surrounded by nature, fruit trees, gardens, and plenty of peaceful corners to relax. On the property you'll find a natural eco-pool, a sunny vintage deck, citrus groves, berry bushes, aloe plants, a small vineyard, cozy cabins, and beautiful old stone structures that tell stories from another time.
We're just a 10-minute walk from the charming village center of Monchique, with its narrow cobblestone streets, cafés, and local markets. Yet it feels like you're right in the middle of nature, surrounded by green hills, birdsong, and starry skies.
During the summer months, Quinta transforms into a lively family holiday destination, welcoming families from Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and other countries. Throughout the year we also host yoga retreats, sound healing trainings, workshops, and gatherings for people from all over the world.
We are a family-run business and work together as a small international team. Everyone has their own responsibilities and contributes to creating a welcoming experience for our guests.
Team members have their own camp site area and plenty of free time to enjoy the Algarve, explore the mountains and beaches, or simply relax by the pool.

Last Minute Help with Breakfast and SOCIAL MEDIA
We currently have a short-term opportunity available from 28 August to 6 September.
We are looking for two helpers during this period:
– Someone to help us prepare and serve breakfast for our guests
Help prepare and serve breakfast, keep the buffet area organized, assist guests, and create a warm and relaxed start to the day. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys hospitality, works independently, and likes early mornings.
– Someone with experience in social media and content creation who can help us improve our online presence and ideally support us in setting up a YouTube channel
The main focus of the social media work will be our Sound Healing activities, especially our Sound Healing Trainings and Sound Journeys. This includes creating photo and video content featuring our sessions, instruments such as Planetary Gongs, Tibetan and Crystal Singing Bowls, handpan, monochord and flutes, as well as the beautiful setting of our Sound Healing space.
For the social media position, it would be especially helpful if you travel with your own equipment, such as a good camera, microphone or other content-creation tools.
Usually, we ask our Workaway team members to stay for at least one month, as most positions involve training, responsibility and close teamwork. However, for this specific period, we are happy to welcome someone for this shorter stay.
If you are available for that specific period and feel that one of these roles suits your experience, we would love to hear from you.
Please tell us a little about your relevant skills and, if you are interested in the social media role, which equipment you would bring with you.
Accommodation + Meals + Payment 5€ per hour (minimum wage)
If you feel connected to what we do and would like to spend some time with us, we’d love to hear from you.
Tell us a little about yourself, your experience, and why you think you'd be a great fit for our team. -

What else ...
Monchique is one of the most beautiful mountain regions of the Algarve. In your free time, you can explore hiking trails, visit local cafés and markets, discover traditional Portuguese villages, or simply relax by the eco-pool.
The famous south coast beaches and surf spots on the west coast can be reached within 45–60 minutes by car.
Public Transport is also available
The area offers excellent opportunities for hiking, mountain biking, surfing, swimming, and exploring nature.
The center of Monchique is just a 10-minute walk away and offers supermarkets, cafés, restaurants, pharmacies, and all essential services.
Public transport in the Algarve is limited, so having your own car is a big advantage if you want to explore the region extensively. However, many volunteers enjoy spending most of their time locally, combining mountain life with occasional beach trips.
We host an international mix of guests, retreat participants, and volunteers throughout the year, making it easy to meet people from different countries and backgrounds. -
