    Description

Hello and welcome to our family!

We are a friendly and active family living in the beautiful Spanish Central Pyrenees (where the highest peaks are), 25 mins from the French border. We are looking for a kind, enthusiastic and English-speaking native (or alternatively, Mandarin/Chinese nattive) to become female to be part of our family and help our daughters improve their English (Mandarin/Chinese) through everyday interaction and play.

We are a Spanish family of 5: the 3 girls are Izarbe (7yo), and Jimena and Maya (identical twins, 6yo) and are very curious about other countries and cuisines, and love arts, nature, cooking and sport; the parents, David and Paula, are researchers and university teachers in global health and have lived and worked in London for nearly 20 years, with projects in Africa , Latin America and Asia. We both work in English (me also in French and, sometimes, Portuguese) and the girls can understand English to different extent (the eldest can have full conversations, while the twins need warming up). We love skiing, climbing, cycling, ice skating, hiking, picnicking, travelling and exploring landscapes and little villages, swimming in the rivers, and doing kayak, paddle surf in the lake. And also spend a lot of time with friends.

We work from home, so we rarely need proper childcare as such. What we are really looking for is a cultural exchange and hope to welcome someone who will become like a big sister to our girls and share family life with us.

In exchange, you can practice Spanish with the parents when girls are at school, if you want to improve your Spanish, and despite us having lived in many places, we are still very Spanish and can offer the "Spanish-way-of-live experience"! :-) , with healthy food, local excursions, and a warm family atmosphere.

We live in Biescas, a beautiful mountain town in the Spanish Pyrenees, surrounded by spectacular scenery, forests and rivers. It is a safe, friendly and lively community with shops, cafés, restaurants, sports facilities and regular cultural events.

Biescas is located close to several ski resorts and the stunning Ordesa y Monte Perdido National Park, making it an ideal place for anyone who enjoys hiking, skiing, cycling, running or simply spending time outdoors.

Despite being a small town, Biescas attracts visitors from all over Spain and Europe throughout the year. During the summer, the town is full of outdoor activities and festivals, while winter offers excellent opportunities for skiing and other mountain sports.

Living here provides a unique opportunity to experience authentic Spanish culture while enjoying an exceptional quality of life in one of the most beautiful regions of Spain.

We want to host English natives (or alternatively, Mandarin/Chinese) people in our family who like young children and are caring and want to spend quality time with our daughters, speaking to them in English and having fun with play, or telling them/us about their culture, and spending time outdoors and in the nature. We work from home, so we will always be at home, thus mayor thing is English speaking.

Previous childcare experience is preferred but not essential. Most importantly, we are looking for someone who is kind-hearted and would enjoy becoming part of our family.

    Accommodation

We have renovated a house in the Mountain and have just moved in. The workawayer will have a private bedroom and will be welcome to share all the family meals. Paula usually cooks, often with the 3 little sous-chefs helping (they all love cooking) but you are also welcome to cook if you wish and we can share yummy recipes. Paula makes a bit of fusion cuisine, bringing things from all the different countries she works in. We all 5 eat EVERYTHING, so can adapt to most special diets you might have.
We have a 7 seat car, so can take you along with us, so we can take you travel around

Biescas, in the Tena valley, is connected with Zaragoza (between Madrid and Barcelona) by bus and from Sabiñanigo also by train (15 mins away) . In Biescas, everything is at a walking distance from our house.

The girls are at school during the day, and we work. During the weekends, we are free to do activities with our girls, which you can also join.
