Description
We are a family of 5: David and Paula, the parents, are teachers and researchers in global health, particularly in Africa, Latin America and Asia; the 3 girls are Izarbe (5yo), and Jimena and Maya (identical twins, 3yo). We live in Zaragoza, the Spanish capital city of the central Pyrinees (where the highest peaks are): 1,5h between Madrid and Barcelona and 1,5h from the mountains. We have a house in the Pyrinees where we spend most weekends, outdoors in the nature, skiing, picnic-ing, ice-skating, hiking or climbing, as well as seeing and hosting friends.
Our children understand English and can speak some, but do not practice as often as we would like. We are just looking for a child-friendly English-speaking female who would like to spend some time with us and speak in English to them (or potentially French) when they are at home, and tell them about their culture. They can also practice their Spanish with us, the parents, if they want to improve their Spanish.Types of help and learning opportunities

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
Zaragoza is middle size city in Aragon (5th biggest) but has a very chilled out family-friendly environment. People is quite friendly and easy to socialise with. We live in a very nice neighbourhood, 10 mins walk from the centre, and 5 mins from a canal which leads onto the forest. The city has Arabic architecture, strong tapas culture and a the mightiest river in Spain There are mountains in the South and the North of the city, and we often go north to the Pyrinees, where we have a flat/house. South of our region is what is called the Spanish Tuscany, with an array of beautiful villages to explore.
We are both Spanish but have lived for nearly 20 years in the UK, but also worked in The Gambia, Kenya, Algeria, and other countries in Africa and Latin America. We all speak English, and Paula also speaks French and Portuguese. We like active busy weekends in the mountain or elsewhere. We often have friends coming home for dinners and parties.Au Pair Help

Help
We want to host people in our family who like young children and want to spend quality time with our daughters, speaking to them in English and having fun with play, or telling them/us about their culture. We work from home, so we will always be at home

In Zaragoza we live in a flat in the centre, with views to the park and a lot of light. It is in the centre, but 5 mins away from a canal and a forrest and several parks, so it is a quite nice environment. Despite Zaragoza being a big city, you do not need private or public transport in the city because it is all within walking disance from our flat. The traveller will have their own bedroom and is welcome to share all the family meals. We share family meals for breakfast and dinner during the week and also lunch over the weekends and holidays. Paula usually cooks, often with the 3 little sous-chefs helping (they all love cooking) but you are also welcome to cook if you wish and we can share yummy recipes. Paula makes a bit of fussion cuisine, bringing things from all the different countries she works in. We all 5 eat EVERYTHING, so can adapt to most special diets you might have.
We go very often to the mountain over the weekened and you are welcome to join if you wish. We have a 7 seat car, so can take you along with us, as you wish. What else ...
Zaragoza is well connected to travel in and out by train or bus. Inside Zaragoza, car is not needed. Most things are a walking distance and there is good public transport (buses and tram). We would like help wiht the girls while we are working (some of the weeks the girls will have activities away from the house in the morning and the traveller can do whatever they wish. Over the weekends too, but also welcome to join us in some activities
