    Description

    Hello!!!!

We are a family of 5: David and Paula (the parents) are researchers in global health and have lived and worked in London for nearly 20 years, with projects in Africa , America and Asia; the 3 girls are Izarbe (7yo), and Jimena and Maya (identical twins, 5yo), are very curious and eager to learn English through play and conversation. They can understand English to different extents and can speak some, but do not practice as often as we would like.

We are moving to the mountains, in the Central Pyrenees (where the highest peaks are). We like to be outdoors in the nature, picnic-ing, ice-skating, hiking or climbing, as well as seeing and hosting friends.

We love the idea of cultural exchange, with a child-friendly English-speaking female who would like to spend some time with us and speak in English to them when they are at home, and tell them about their culture, when they are at home. In exchange, you can practice Spanish with the parents when girls are at school, if you want to improve your Spanish, and despite us having lived in many places, we are still very Spanish and can offer the "Spanish-way-of-live experience"! :-) , with healthy food, local excursions, and a warm family atmosphere.

We both work mostly from home, so we do not really need proper babysitting with any responsibilities, just to spend time with them/us, speaking and playing in Englihs, as a part of family interaction.

Zaragoza is a middle size city in Aragon (5th biggest) but has a very chilled out family-friendly environment. People is quite friendly and easy to socialise with. We live in a very nice neighbourhood, 10 mins walk from the centre, and 5 mins from a canal which leads onto the forest. The city has Arabic architecture, strong tapas culture and a the mightiest river in Spain. There are mountains in the South and the North of the city, and we often go up North to the Pyrinees, where we have a house. South of our region is what is called the Spanish Tuscany, with an array of beautiful villages to explore.

We are both Spanish but have lived for nearly 20 years in the UK, but also worked in The Gambia, Kenya, Algeria, and other countries in Africa and Latin America. We all speak English, and Paula also speaks French and Portuguese. We like active busy weekends in the mountain or elsewhere. We often have friends coming home for dinners and parties.

We want to host people in our family who like young children and want to spend quality time with our daughters, speaking to them in English and having fun with play, or telling them/us about their culture, and spending time outdoors and in the nature. We work from home, so we will always be at home, thus mayor thing is English speaking.

During the school year we live Zaragoza but we move to mountain over the summer. We have renovated a house in the Mountain and like to stay there with friends. The traveller will have their own bedroom and will be welcome to share all the family meals. Paula usually cooks, often with the 3 little sous-chefs helping (they all love cooking) but you are also welcome to cook if you wish and we can share yummy recipes. Paula makes a bit of fussion cuisine, bringing things from all the different countries she works in. We all 5 eat EVERYTHING, so can adapt to most special diets you might have.
We have a 7 seat car, so can take you along with us, so we can take you travel around

    What else ...

Zaragoza is well connected to travel in and out by train or bus. Inside Zaragoza, car is not needed. Most things are a walking distance from our house and there is good public transport (buses and tram).

In the mountain, we go to the Tena valley, connected by bus to Zaragoza. We can also take you to main cities (Sabiñanigo/Jaca) to arrive/go to other places.

We would like help withthe girls while we are working . During the weekends, we are free to do activities with our girls, which you can also join.
