    Description

    I am a retired banker, staying in Mundgod uttarkannada Karnataka, a small town and trying to improve our family farm at Bachanki Village which is 5 kms from MUNDGOD.
    My mother,son and daughter stay with me.
    Mundgod is part of malnad region of Karnataka and is partially forested. It has moderate climate and rainfall,temperatures from 19 too40 degree Celsius.
    There are many tourist attractions within 200 kms and a few temples etc.
    Our farm is in developing stage and we are practicing permaculture in a portion of our farm.
    We are also raising cows,,sheep,dogs ,a handful of chickens.
    The whole farm is organic.
    We need people who can design permaculture projects.
    Also who can assist with low cost houses using local materials like clay, sand, grass, hay , bamboo etc..

    Travellers will love the beautiful farm, the surrounding nature, the local spots like temples, waterfalls the local food, fresh vegetables and of course we will love your company.
    Guests can learn to cook local food and be a part of our family and we can enjoy the company of each other.
    We have a fairly good collection of movies mostly English which guests can watch.

    I need help with permaculture design of the farm though I have a basic idea it would be great to have a professional.
    Guests need to be familiar with permaculture design and should have done a project or designed a farm. Any documents supporting the qualifications and work done must be scanned and a copy mailed to me.
    Among the requirements the guests must have knowledge about the different species of plants and trees that can be planted and help us to plant the seeds/ saplings.

    Design and help in construction of water bodies like ponds, natural swimming pools fish breeding ponds are urgently needed.

    The guests must have experience in construction of low cost housing using local materials like mud ,sand, straw,grass etc.

    Help with construction of a bamboo chicken run. People who are familiar with bamboo weaving and mud plaster are welcome. The chicken run will be about 1000 sq.ft. and should house 100 chickens. People with knowledge of chicken farming especially local breeds are welcome.
    Help with maintaining local cows, milking, feeding is needed.
    Help with website designing is needed. People with photographic skills and camera and equipment and able to design our website are welcome.
    We teach spoken English for a fee with the course duration of 40 hours and 2 hours each day.
    Guests willing to learn spoken English must be willing to do practice for 1 hour each day with any English language assignments.

    I have been teaching spoken English for quite some time now to students and professionals in my spare time. I will gladly teach anyone willing to learn. If you are interested please let me know and I will get back to you. A minimum of thirty days will be needed to learn the basics and also will depend on the present proficiency levels.

    You can stay with us at our town house( two persons), or a farm shed which can accommodate 4

    Arrangements are simple with cold water and indian and Western toilets.
    Hot water can be arranged only in the morning. Food is simple,mostof the time consisting of chapati, one vegetable,dal and rice and on some occasions meat like chicken,sheep can be cooked. Guests may cook their own food too but cleaning up is a.must.
    Mattress,mosquito net pillows,sheets will be provided.
    Smoking is allowed.

    Guests may visit local sightseeing places on their own with guidance from us or alternatively we can enjoy taking them around. Costs of transportation,food at outstation will have to be borne by guests.
    We normally get up between 5-7 am and sleep around 10 pm ,. Our households are not very neat and tidy and we are a very lively lot who enjoy cooking,music,movies of which we have a good collection.
    Wi Fi is available only in the town house. Phone network is poor in the farm.
    Our previous experience was with an Israeli couple who stayed with us for 3 days.
