Description
REMENBER HEALTLY LIFE BECOME FROM POSITIVE THINKING, SERENE FRAME OF MIND, ORGANIC FOOD AND USEFULL ACTIVITY ON COUNTRYSIDE. HERE WE HAVE GOOD LANDSCAPE ON SUNLIGTH AND UNCONTAMINATED AIR. I am an organic farmer who applies the olistic biodynamic method of cultivation. We produce extravingin olive oil, fruit juice & jams, dryfruit and many other products from biogarden vegetable. We acept workawaer motivated in exchange of cultural background, useful llife experiences and great skills. We can offer experience and solution on biodynamic coltivation and self sufficient support about circular economy, workhorse training, bbeskeeping, logging in family, or tenting during good season, or parking van and roulotte.
We are placed in the hillig Chianti area 30 km from Florence, 40 km from Siena, 50 from Pisa. My house is in a contest of neighbourhood families. I have 1 small dog. In family you can devide our tipical toskany vegetarian kitchen and genuine food from our garden. We dont use to smoke, drogs & alchool. Some days we go to help others farmers, to visit friends and interesting artistic-culture areas.

The experience at Roberto's place was challenging. He is an interesting person but his lifestyle is quite particular.

I spent just a little over a week with Roberto and I wanted to cancel my ticket to Australia and stay for a month! I arrived for the first week of November when olive picking was just getting started. I shared a room with another worker in the house and had breakfast with Roberto and his wife Marcelo. I had spent two weeks traveling in other parts… read more of Italy, and every time I tried to speak Italian, people would speak English back because they knew I was English speaking. But Marcelo only speaks Italian so it was a great way to practice! But eh end of the week, I could understand the majority of what she was saying and could very brokenly respond. And she was just hilarious and singing very heartily all the time. She made some amazing meals and there was always plenty.

While I was there more and more workers arrived, including some of Roberto's friends from Venice, who also spoke mostly Italian but wanted to practice language with us. His neighbors arrived to help as well. It was such an amazing thing to see all these people arrive to help Roberto with his olives. You could tell this was a great traditional event for people from the city to move out to the country to pick. It was also evident that all these people returned not only for the tradition, but because they had such high respect and admiration for Roberto. And I have joined their team! No matter how stressed he was about getting the olives in before the rain came, he was gentle spoken and very kind.

Sometimes we would pack a picnic and take it with us and eat under the trees, take a little nap, then work until it was getting dark. Picking olives doesn't always seem like hard work, because you're either chatting away with your picking team about whatever or in a quiet reflective silence, but you feel it at the end of the day and sleep so well. Rotating jobs makes the work pass easily. Crawling on the ground to pick fallen olives, spreading nets, combing the branches, climbing in the trees or ladders, and gathering the nets into crates makes the time pass quickly. We did start bringing snacks with to get us through until lunch time. There was a pool at the top of the hill we could use as well. No one else would join the Icelandic working and I in the slightly chilly waters, but it was refreshing. There was nothing more rewarding than the first lunch we all had together made of pasta covered in our newly pressed oil.

Roberto has some Internet access, but it was easier to just go into town maybe twice a week to find wifi or use the library (you need a cell phone to get a wifi password at the library). There are quite a few nice little restaurants to get a glass of wine and check emails. If you go into montesepoli, look for the little store that sells new wine. You can get bottles filled and corked for just a few euros.

I would love to go back every year to Roberto's to help pick olives. It was an ideal Tuscany adventure!

I stayed more than 2 weeks here and it was a really good experience. Sharing the life of Roberto and Marcella, thats totally different than my own one.
I never worked such a long time outside!
Roberto is a good teacher in gardening and marcella is a wonderful cook. Thanks a lot for teaching me how to make CECINA (: I enjoyed the time we shared!
