    Description

    Hello!

We are a family of four: Federica, Alberto, and our two wonderful daughters, Olivia and Alice.

Olivia is 5 1/2 years old — lively, charismatic, and full of energy. She loves discovering new things and brings so much joy and personality into our home. Little Alice is 15months old — sweet, calm, and always ready with the most heart-melting smile.

We live in Venice, in a beautiful and still residential area of the city. Venice is truly a magical place to live, and there is always something new to explore or discover.

We both work in tourism, and in our free time we love going around the city — either by boat or on foot. We enjoy exploring hidden corners, visiting new places, and simply spending quality time together as a family.

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

Living with us means experiencing real Venetian life beyond the tourist side of the city.

We live in a residential area of Venice and love sharing our daily life, traditions, and lifestyle. We are happy to include our Workawayer in family activities and help them feel part of the local community.

With us, you will have the opportunity to:
    • Learn about authentic Venetian culture and daily life
    • Go rowing in the lagoon and discover Venice from the water
    • Swim in the lagoon during summer
    • Visit the smaller islands of the Venetian lagoon (like Burano, Mazzorbo, and other beautiful hidden places)
    • Explore the city on foot and discover local traditions and events
    • Meet other girls/au pairs living in the area and build your own social network

We are also happy to help you enroll in an Italian language course and practice Italian with us every day if you wish.

Food is a big part of our culture and family life. We love cooking and sharing meals together. Every week we make homemade pizza from scratch — kneading the dough together is one of our favorite family traditions!

For us, cultural exchange means sharing everyday life, experiences, food, language, and time together — not just work hours.

We would ideally need help Monday to Friday, approximately from 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm.

The afternoons could vary depending on the girls’ schedules. For example:

    * Picking the girls up from school, spending some time outside playing with their friends, and then coming home around 5:30–6:00 pm.
    * Picking up one of the girls and taking her to her extracurricular activities.
    * Staying with the daughter who doesn’t have an activity while one of the parents takes the other daughter to hers.
    * From around 6:00 pm onwards, one of the parents will always be at home, and we would appreciate some help with the evening routine: dinner, shower, getting ready for bed and tidying up toys, clear the table and load the dishwasher while we put the girls to bed.

It would also be a great plus if you were occasionally available in the morning when one of the girls is sick and we are unable to take time off work.

Every now and then, we might also ask you to babysit in the evening so that my husband and I can go out together. Any additional hours outside the agreed schedule would of course be paid separately.

Fluent English is a requirement for this position. One of the main reasons we are looking for an au pair is to give our children, especially our older daughter, the opportunity to be exposed to and interact naturally in English.

We are therefore looking for someone who is fluent and confident in English, and who is happy to speak English with the girls on a daily basis.

We would also really love to create a language exchange experience. We would like our daughter Olivia to improve her English through daily interaction in a natural and playful way. She talks a lot — really a lot! — so she will definitely keep the conversation going 😊 For this reason, we are looking for someone confident and not shy, who feels comfortable speaking English with her consistently, while also being able to understand her when she speaks (sometimes very fast and very enthusiastically!). We believe language learning should happen through play, daily life, and genuine connection.

  • Accommodation

    Accommodation

    * 🛏️ Private or shared room/accommodation up to €450–500 per month (valued at if it was rented)
    * 🍝 Dinner with our family from Monday to Friday
    * 💶 €200 per month pocket money/allowance

We are open to discussing this together and finding the best solution to ensure comfort and privacy.

Our goal is to make you feel at home and comfortable during your stay with us.

During the week, we would really enjoy having our au pair share meals with us. For us, eating together is an important family moment and part of the cultural exchange. Weekends (Saturday and Sunday) are free, and you are welcome to choose what you prefer to do and where to eat.

If you have any specific dietary needs or preferences, we are happy to discuss them together and find a solution that works for everyone.

We are omnivorous but we eat little meat. Our diet includes a lot of fish and vegetables and is generally varied and balanced. We do not drink much alcohol. We would prefer that our au pair does not drink alcohol in front of the children. Of course, it is perfectly fine to share a toast together on special occasions or family moments.

Food is an important part of our lifestyle — we love cooking and spending time in the kitchen together.
