    Description

My name is Lana. I live on 5.5 acres surrounded by forest, with a large garden, greenhouse and modest orchard. Currently 3 of my grown children live here but are moving in September. We have 2 dogs and a cat.

I can teach about native herbs and how to make tinctures, salves and other options. As well, I do a tremendous amount of canning, dehydrating, pickling and processing which I'm happy to share my knowledge about.

I am looking for help to maintain and improve the yard and garden, plus I have some bigger projects planned (see more in details).

The property backs onto the Kaslo river trail system, easy access for hiking and mountain biking, and there's even a disc golf course just steps off the property. Kootenay Lake is a beautiful play ground, a 2 min drive or 20 min walk to town. Kaslo itself is a very fun little village.

The main push for this summer is to take back the encroaching weeds around the garden perimeter. There is ongoing weeding, composting and soil amendments. As well, the greenhouse needs to be managed.

The next big project I am planning is to replace rotten fence posts and add a gate. There are still large sections of the garden that need to be screened and built into contained beds.

Other jobs could include mowing, weed eating, tilling, staining the deck and whatever else comes up.
