    Description

    HejHo...

We are a small, lively family including me and my 3 children, living in a Bavarian village near Rosenheim and Chiemsee.
Our house is full of life — muddy shoes at the door, drawings on the table, half-finished ideas, loud laughter, sometimes tears, often music.

I’m Anna. I study psychology because I’m genuinely fascinated by how we grow — as children, as adults, especially through the messy parts. Currently building my own practice around nervous system work, emotional regulation and conscious relationships. I love silliness, soft wool, a lot of rain and thunderstorms, deep talks at the kitchen table and dancing while cooking. I'v done quite some travels in different shapes in the past - from hitch-hiking all along Europe to workaway/wwoofing to camino de Santiago, to visiting social and political projects&communities...

Our home is not a polished project. It’s simply our real life.

We’re looking for a grounded, kind and self-aware person who would enjoy stepping into our rhythm for a while.

    Maybe you
    – build pillow castles or invent outdoor adventures
    – explore fields and forest paths with the kids
    – cook something simple and warm
    – help a little in the house
    – give the garden some love

The garden isn’t a structured plan. It’s more like us — a bit wild, a bit chaotic, sometimes thriving, sometimes forgotten, always trying again.
If you like soil under your nails and don’t mind that things aren’t perfect, you’ll probably feel at home here.

Creative people are very welcome. So are calm ones. What matters most to me is emotional maturity, reliability and a respectful presence around children.

You’ll have your own room, own bathroom with shower, shared meals, lots of nature around us — and a very human, imperfect, growing family to spend time with.

If this feels like your kind of place, I’d love to hear about you and what brings you here.

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

I travelled quite a bit in earlier years — hitchhiking across Europe, walking the Camino, spending time in different projects and communities...Hosting feels a bit like inviting the world back into my home.

Our family is multilingual and mixed. German, English, Spanish and Catalan appear in different combinations around the table. Conversations often drift into psychology, relationships and why humans behave the way they do — sometimes quite seriously, sometimes with my teenage daughter adding her own perspective.

There is a lot of nature close by, inviting for walking, hiking, swimming, skiing, sailing....
Lakre Chiemsee and the first foothills of the Alps are about 30–40 minutes away, and there are many wonderful lakes, forests and the river Inn nearby. Rosenheim is 10 mins by car and has a beautiful old town. Munich and Salzburg are both easy to reach by train.

Most exchange here happens in simple ways — shared meals, stories from different places, new recipes, different habits, ideas in the garden, or long kitchen table conversations.

as a whimsical family home with children aged 0,6 and 15...a big old farmhouse and our garden...there is always something to do.
Depending on your preferences and experience...tasks could include anything from playing, reading, crafting with the children, exploring outdoors with them, cooking, helping in the house and making it more beautiful, using your green thumb inside or in the garden...
actually this year the garden needs some tough love...with hundreds of strawberry plants from many generations...mitsuna hijacking half the garden bed...and the high beds needing to be refilled and brought back to new life.

if you're creative and practical that's a big plus...I am happy for folks bringing ideas how to improve things around the house and garden...how to make it more beautiful, practical, cosy, sustainable...

    Accommodation

You'll have a cosy room to your own and a little bath room with a shower.

Our house and garden are big enough to find many little corners to retreat to and hide if you wish to...and our ample living room and kitchen will be shared spaces to meet and spend time together.

If possible we like to have lunches together, although the kids arrive at home at different times midday. Evening is the moment in the day where we usually gather in the kitchen and share time and dinner.

We'd be happy to share meals with you whenever possible, however you are welcome to help yourself, too.

Since my eldest daughter (and we all mostly) eats vegetarian, if you too that will be catered for.

  • What else ...

    What else ...

Our home is a good place if you enjoy nature, reading, cooking, knitting, hanging out next to a warm stove, building Lego fantasy worlds or simply having some peaceful time. Bavaria with all its lakes, mountains and picturesque little villages is a really beatiful piece on this planet to explore.

The house is in a small village, so having a bicycle or enjoying walking helps if you like exploring on your own. Buses to Rosenheim are 3 mins walking distance and trains from Rosenheim connect easily to Munich, Salzburg and further.

One of my kids is a littly baby still, so experience here is much appreciated :)
