  Description

  Come and visit our place! Experience living in the forest, swim in the lake, and see wildlife. We are a middle aged couple living in a large log home on a rural property in south-central British Columbia. We are between the city of Kamloops and Sun Peaks Resort. We have both traveled a lot and enjoy hosting folks from around the world. The property is on a small lake where you can swim or paddle and there are lots of hiking and fishing locations nearby.
  We are super easy going, love to share cool places with folks and are also good cooks!

  You would experience living in a log home in the Canadian forest, trout fishing, paddle boarding, hiking. Our location is only a couple of hours from world famous Wells Gray Park, and the Okanogan lake district. There are also almost 100 small lakes within an hour's drive. Both Dave and Kyra have traveled around the world and our 19 year old is currently on a world tour and may be doing work away with a family somewhere soon.

  Help

  We are looking for help this year (ideally May and June) with a few projects: 1) clearing some brush and dead branches from the surrounding forest 2) cutting or stacking firewood 3) yard maintenance 3) some staining and painting on the house and / or dock. None of these requires any specific skills, just a good attitude, some physical strength, and a willingness to learn.

  You would have a private room and bathroom with amazing views of the forest (we usually host this room as a short term rental ).

  We both work from home a lot and are pretty casual. We work hard but we also like to relax. Go for a paddle, sit on the dock for sunset or go for a walk. We enjoy good food and always have dinner together. There is no public transit to our place. Ideally, to stay here you would need a car.
