    🌿 Our Family & Home

We are a family of six with four energetic boys (ages 14, 9, 6, and 2). Our children attend a Hawaiian-focused charter school that blends home learning with wonderful Kumu support—so our home is a lively, curious place full of discovery.

Our property is our haven — surrounded by open space, fresh air, the peaceful sound of a babbling creek, and plenty of adventure. We value living simply and making mindful choices for our health and the land. We’re gradually learning to grow more of our own food and currently care for chickens, ducks, goats, cows, horses, dogs, cats, and a sweet bunny. I’m also a novice beekeeper!

We are primarily vegetarian and enjoy creating nourishing meals from what we grow and gather. Life here is full of small projects, learning moments, and opportunities to connect with nature.

    🌈 Cultural Exchange & Learning

We enjoy meeting new people, sharing our island life, and learning from others’ experiences. In exchange for your help, we’re happy to teach what we’ve learned about simple living, homeschooling, beginner beekeeping, and farm animal care. We also love to explore and can show you some of our favorite island spots when time allows.

Hosting Workawayers has been such a fun way for us to connect, share meals, and learn new skills from each other.

    🌱 Aloha & Final Note

We are a learning family—growing, exploring, and creating a more self-sufficient life together. If this sounds like the kind of experience you’d like to share, we’d love to hear from you!

I'm biased but I feel we live in the most magical place, The island has so many things to explore, so many different climate zones, black sand beaches, green sand beach, active volcano, hot springs, waterfalls and more. Our property is located in Hilo and it takes 15 minutes to get downtown. We have a creek at the end of our property it is so peaceful and you can hike up the creek to a waterfall and swimming hole. It's breathtaking.
