I am American but living in Ireland for over 20 years now. Doolin is an amazing part of Ireland - the capital of traditional Irish music - with music nightly in all of the pubs during the summer and at weekends in the winter, and a good few festivals as well. There are all walks of life here and so many nationalities that call our little village home. The famous Cliffs of Moher are only 5.5 miles away and the Burren National Park is on our doorstep. You can also reach the Aran Islands via ferry from Doolin Pier but they finish up in October.
Help
Hello! I used Workaway for many years to get help looking after my daughters, but now I need some help looking after my pets! I don’t want to send the dog to a kennel and the cat is very set in his ways :)
This is a short stay only as we will be away on holidays for 12 days starting 6 January . There’s an opportunity to arrive a couple days earlier and stay a couple later. I have many friends who will also call to the house to make sure all is ok.
The pets are Nama, our 12 year old dog and Harry the cat (13 years old). The cat is exceptionally easy. Nama is just a love magnet. The dog would need walking each day and you would need to be prepared for the Irish weather! Waterproof clothing highly recommended.
I’ll happily bring you food shopping to stock the fridge before we go and show you a bit of the area.

Accommodation
You'll have your own room but a shared bathroom - there are 2 to use though, the one in my daughter's room or there is one downstairs.
What else ...
When my older 2 daughters were younger we had au pairs every year (for 10 years at least) and have made great friendships with all of them - one even stayed in Doolin and is now married! So we are used to welcoming people into our home.

Olivia, Veronica and Rebecca will always have a place in my heart!
I was here for 4 months, and felt like a part of the family.
The house is very welcoming, the work is easy and the girls help a lot with the English language. I can't wait to go back, see you in a few months :)
