We are artists living in a beautiful forest by the ocean.
We are world travelers and enjoy the peaceful lifestyle Galiano island has to offer.

Do you enjoy working alone ?

I do a lot of volunteer work on Galiano a bit like a workaway but at the end of the day I am happy to come back home .

We are offering a great setting . Let us know what’s important for your happiness.

Mine is mosaic and home care.

Galiano is a big forest with no cougar , no bears and with plenty of place to hike and explore .

Few projects are on the go. Mainly gardening , grouting , decluttering.

If you have experience , with grout , let me know .

I go out often helping friends with their projects and of course you would be welcome to tail along. I love people, I enjoy learning new things and very curious how I can do things differently or better.

Life is an adventure and islands life is what I can share with you.

If you are a solo traveler you will love the company of the eagles and the deers. Nature is extremely generous where we are..

We live in a big forest with no cougar , no bears and with a lots of beaches to explore. We have bicycle you can use.
Islanders are mostly friendly and kind . If you like quietness and privacy we have no problem with that.
Galiano is an incredible place to live and visit.

In the past , we had a volunteer helping us building the garden and we have enjoyed having them with us.

I had the opportunity to stay with Line for 6+ months. It was such an incredible experience that I wanted to document it. This review therefore is as much for you as it is for me (ha ha).

When I caught the ferry to come to Galiano, I phoned Line and she told me soup will be ready when I got there. This would be my first introduction to Line’s… read more soup and her cooking. Line is an extraordinary chef and everything she touches tastes incredible. I’ve had so many delicious soups I can’t count them all, but my favourite was her broccoli soup. Incroyable! I was not vegan when I arrived, but I was vegan when I left because Line showed how delicious she could make a vegan meal. One of the highlights of my stay was learning how to cook (better). I’m still not great, but so much better than I was. There were many parties and lots of laughs in Line’s kitchen cooking pizza, sushi, etc… with music always playing in the background.

In addition to healthy foods, Line likes healthy diets. She challenged me to one diet where I lost an enormous amount of weight. When I got home my boys almost didn’t recognize me, and none of my clothes fit.

Line’s property is large with a seemingly endless amount of work to be done. No matter what work needed doing, there was always time for fun. Line would organize hikes and walks to Coon Bay, the Bluffs, Bellhouse Park, Montague Park, a walk down Georgeson Bay Rd, and all the beaches in the area. One of the most hilarious experience I had was after a walk with Line it got really dark, fast. With no street lights around, Line intend we try a navigate our way back up her long winding driveway in total darkness (lol). After a few wrong turns leading down the wrong driveway, Line finally agreed to use a flashlight. Too funny!

Line has a great sense of humour so there will be lots of laughing whether you are working or not. She might ask you to climb up a tree to take a silly picture of you, or drive around the island in a stinky truck doing all kinds of silly things. Even a shopping trip to Wal-Mart can be fun! When a snowstorm hit and we had to drive up the windy driveway in the snow, she wasn’t worried about the car going in the ditch, “We’ll get it out” she said.

There is always work to be done inside and out. My work was always met with patience and appreciation, like the time I raked pine cones in tiny little piles around the property. Line was quick to recognize the brilliance of my work.

If you spend enough time on Galiano it will change you. The incredible beauty, the wildlife, the fresh air, the quiet, the pace, and the people. My time at Line’s changed me. I will never be the same lol. Line is a very strong and kind person who welcomed me into her home. I got to know her friends, family, and community. It was an experience far greater than I could have expected.
