Description
We are looking for our next fantastic Workawayer who is keen on the possibility of settling in for a good while! Beginning mid November and staying for 2-6 months ideally. (Added perk: after one month we will drop the daily required hours to 3 hours work exchange per day for a total of 15 hours per week.)
Who we are..
We are Elinor and Brenden, two counsellors in our early 40s, with a 14 yr old daughter Gaia and godson Jonathan who is 18 attending Camosun, plus one adorable dog Poppy. We live in a lovely heritage house in the centre of Fernwood in beautiful downtown Victoria BC. We have quite an international household! Australia, Indonesia, USA, Canada, France are all represented in our home. We are a musical household, Brenden and Jonathan are especially talented with piano, guitar, and drums. Two of us are Christians. Two are not. And we are all cool with that <3
We have hosted about 20 Workaway’s over the last several years! We enjoy this program thoroughly and have made lifelong friendships. We'd love to connect and show you around some but also encourage workawayers to apply who are self-motivated/directed, such that you feel confident in exploring the town on your own and making other friends outside of the home as well.
We need help with chores including food shopping, nightly cooking, cleaning and running errands. People (w o m e n specifically, I may get flagged for saying that) who are detail oriented and can cook and clean well and efficiently are most welcome!
Here you'll have a lovely bedroom off the kitchen with high ceilings and a good amount of light. Hot tub access!
A pub and cafes are only a block away and it's an easy walk downtown as well. We are happy to loan you a bike while you are here, and a car on occasion may be possible as well.
We look for a minimum of one month stays and also welcome people longer term if it's a good fit.
We are flexible and laid back, but also motivated to enjoy life and work hard! Currently we are opening a second neurofeedback & counselling centre on the Westshore of Victoria.

I was a pleasure to meet and help Elinor with her new project.
It was something new for me that she simply accepted me without any expactations.
I felt like a member of family.
Thank you to Gaia for teaching the piano and violin!
