Description
We’re looking for one wonderful Workawayer to join our family for May 1 – June 30, 2026 in beautiful Gordon Head, Victoria, BC.
This is a great fit for someone who enjoys cooking, appreciates a calm home environment, and is happy working independently while living near beaches, nature, and a vibrant small city.
⏱ Time Commitment
4 hours per day
5 days per week
Flexible timing for most tasks
Dinner is the main fixed responsibility (timing matters here)
🏡 What We’re Looking For
We’re best suited to someone who is independent, thoughtful, and takes initiative. You enjoy cooking, keeping a space calm and organized, and don’t need much direction once you understand the rhythm of a home.
This season of life is a full one for us—with a newborn and a busy family business—so we’re looking for someone who is comfortable managing their time and settling into their own routine.
👋 Who We Are
We’re Elinor and Brenden, two counsellors in our mid-40s, living in a charming mid-century modern home with our 18-year-old daughter Gaïa, our newborn Maisey, and our sweet dog Poppy.
We’re an international household with roots in Australia, the USA, Canada, and France. We value warmth, respect, and thoughtful communication. Two of us are Christian, one is not—we appreciate and respect different perspectives.
We’ve hosted around 20 Workawayers over the years and genuinely enjoy the experience.
🌊 Location
We’re located in Gordon Head, one of Victoria’s most beautiful areas:
Short walk to Hollydene Beach
Bike ride to UVic, Cadboro Bay, and Gyro Beach
Bus stop one block away for easy access to downtown
Victoria is known for its coastal beauty, mild weather, and relaxed lifestyle—perfect for exploring during your free time.
🏠 What’s Included
Private studio suite (large room, kitchen, bathroom)
Access to garden space
Use of a bike
Occasional use of a vehicle may be possible
🌿 A Typical Day
You might spend a few hours earlier in the day tidying, organizing, or doing errands, then prepare dinner in the evening. After that, your time is your own—whether that’s exploring beaches, going into town, or relaxing in your private space.
✨ Interested?
We’d love to hear from you.
Tell us a bit about yourself, your cooking experience, and what you’re hoping for in a Workaway stay.
Looking forward to connecting,
Elinor, Brenden, Gaïa, Maisey & Poppy 🐾

I was a pleasure to meet and help Elinor with her new project.
