Description
My husband and I are empty-nester that live in a beach town at the southern tip of New Jersey. Our kids are in college and grad school, but manage to make it home as often as possible. My husband travels a bit with his work, so you never know who will be here! Sometimes, just me, sometimes both my husband and me, and sometimes our son and daughter too! We have an apartment attached to our house where we do vacation rentals. We enjoy traveling and learning about other cultures. Our area is famous for bird-watching. We are very close to the beach & can bike ride to just about anything in town. We are very much an outdoor kind of family that enjoys camping, hiking and gardening.

Help
We are looking for some general help around the house and yard. Cutting grass, weeding, help with the chickens, cleaning out the garage, some lite cleaning & helping with changeovers in the apartment we rent out. Randy is a project man and there is always something going on around here :)

What else ...
We don't eat much meat, mostly seafood and vegetarian meals. We have a chicken and will be adding chicks this spring. We are a laid back family who enjoy getting to know travelers, domestic or international. We don't watch much TV, but do play lots of board games :)
Spring is always busy in the garden! Love to have help getting everything started! Summertime, plenty to do for work and play! And fall brings canning season:)A little more information

They are amazing people. Open-minded, open-hearted and full of enthusiasm for life. The first night I arrived, I explained the challenges of being a volunteer. Where do you fit into the family-- guest/volunteer/daughter/worker? Sometimes the line is blurred. Chris laughed and admitted that I would definitely become… read more
