Description
UPDATE:
Recently, our property was devastated by Hurricane Helene. We have thousands of trees down or uprooted. If you are interested in hard manual labor, you can contact us for more information. We hope to be up and running again in the next several years.
Nestled among thousands of acres of National Forest in the North Carolina Mountains, our property is blessed with streams and ponds. We are a secluded retreat for spiritual growth, healing, and outdoor adventures. This is a beautiful natural space.
We are working on re-opening our retreat in 2025, and we need your help! We're looking for volunteers to help us with general tasks. We do not charge for any activities and are in the process of becoming a non-profit. We are not open to the public.
During your free time, enjoy the exuberant nature of the area! You and your party will have access to four bedrooms, a full kitchen, three bathrooms, a living room, laundry, and all our outdoor spaces.
Right outside our doors are beautiful hiking trails…road, gravel, and mountain bike riding and rafting down the Nolichucky River. The Nolichucky is uncontrolled and a kayaker's dream. The Appalachian Trail is just a few minutes away. This area is rich in diversity and there are many arts and craft festivals as well as music festivals within an hour’s drive.Types of help and learning opportunities

We are a spiritual retreat and often host Indigenous Ceremonies. You are welcome to participate if you choose. We will share our time and knowledge of the space and area with you and look forward to learning what you have to offer.
Help
We are looking for those individuals or couples/groups who can contribute to cleaning up the land, making improvements in the lodge and other tasks. We are open to working on a schedule that would work for you, and it can change from week to week if needed.
We live in a forest and have lots of downed wood. We need help cutting, stacking, and moving wood. We also are dedicated to saving the Hemlocks in our area and in the cooler months, we could use help inoculating the trees on the property.Languages

We have four bedrooms, a fully equipped kitchen, and a beautiful space to share. Since we back up to the National Forest, we do not see any neighbors and have privacy. You have an entire house to yourself.
We do not provide food but would love to share some meals with you. What else ...
