    About Us:

Hi, I'm Chelsea. Our ranch is a homesteading project where my family and I strive to live sustainably and share our knowledge and experiences with others. My husband, Dan and I run the ranch, and several older children (mostly teens) still live at home.

    Our Family and Ranch:

We’re a close-knit family passionate about rural living and self-sufficiency. Our ranch is an hour from the nearest town in a beautiful valley filled with wildlife. We raise chickens, sheep, and cows, and we grow a variety of fruits, vegetables, and herbs in our gardens.

    What to Expect:

Workawayers will become part of our family, helping with farm work, gardening, and running errands. You'll have your own space in our travel trailer and lots of time to yourself. Our ranch is right in the middle of endless miles of forest and grasslands, so someone who loves and appreciates nature would be a good fit. Evenings are usually quiet, and while trips to town may be possible occasionally, most nights will be spent at home.

Join us at our ranch to experience the joys of rural living, and learn valuable skills. We look forward to sharing our journey with you!

    What to Expect:

Farm Work: You’ll help care for our array of farm animals, including chickens, sheep, and cows. Daily tasks include feeding, cleaning enclosures, and ensuring the animals are healthy and happy.
Gardening: Our sprawling gardens offer an excellent opportunity to learn about organic gardening practices. You’ll assist with planting, weeding, harvesting, and maintaining a variety of fruits, vegetables, and herbs that we grow for our family. You can also learn about food preservation as we do tons of canning, freeze-drying and root cellaring.
Family Support: We’re a busy family, and you’ll help by driving the kids to lessons in town and contributing to family meals, including learning to cook from scratch with fresh ingredients straight from our farm.
