    Description

We run a small personal homestead and grow mainly perennials and are rewilding, mini hugelcultire beds, and practicing low to no irrigation techniques.

Come and join us and help out however you can and relax and enjoy the peace and quiet!

We can arrange to pick you up. There is no public transportation but we do buy food in town once monthly.

There is unlimited high speed internet and no cellular reception.

No smoking indoors please (house, tent , etc) but we do have sheltered spaces.

    No alcohol please.

We have one large euthanasia rescue dog / livestock dog and two outdoor cats. Also a free range flock.
We can't risk accommodating any extra four footed pets.

Note: My German is very rusty but I would love an opportunity to refresh: I am originally from UK and took German in school, then 3 years elective German finishing at university year one, and visited a friend in Saarbrüchen, and i can still understand a bit.

It would be great to learn some Spanish too!

We are going to try to build an outdoor lorena stove (cob) and try cooking with it, and perhaps do some passive solar projects this coming summer.

We would certainly like some help with small building projects, but also there is plenty of gardening to do (transplanting and setting up and maintaining new annual and perennial beds) if that is where your interests lie: you will be our guests :-)
(The help we get will depend on the skills our visitor(s) has/have, and their interests)

We have plans to improve a covered entry into the house, and make balcony repairs and help would be great

Gardening tasks, such as watering plants using our rainwater catchment system, preparing new planting beds, and planting seeds or transferring seedlings, but we are open to suggestions.

We have a few bicycles in various stages of repair and also a tandem bike -- which is probably still in perfect shape.

We are also in the process of restoring a 14' wooden fishing boat, and we plan on installing a new starter in our 70s VW camper van as well.

There is usually a canoe available and there is a huge freshwater reservoir up the road. You can eat the fish and the lakes are very clean. We are surrounded by crown forestry land and lakes !
There aren't many people but there is plenty of wildlife although we don't have any problems with bears or wolves near the house -- just the occasional deer, foxes, weasels, raccoons and chipmunks and squirrels. We are visited by wild and honey bees, and birds of all types sing here.

The stars are amazing because there is very little light pollution. It is very quiet, and there is no cellular reception (although we have high speed fibre wifi).

Very large canvas tent with sleeping pads and bedding with access to the house, and there is a gutted motorhome (large van) if the weather is miserable

An electrical extension cord and outdoor well water tap are always available.

Food is provided.and we would like to all take turns.

I have an understanding of non gluten and non dairy diets, and can accomodate vegan / vegetarian diets as well
