Description
Our project in the land is a space in the middle of nature on the tropical forest of the Sierra Nevada de Santamarta, close to several of the most beautiful beaches in Colombia. It is a space for all those who want to disconnect working with the Mother Earth in a land that provides us food permanently and erperience living the idea of community. We invite you to disconnect from your rutine and the stress of the daily life and connect with yourself and the Pachamama.
In March 2012 Naty, Gerrit (Germany) and Leo (Colombia) came together to design a harmonious life project for Mother Earth and self-sustainability with the clear conviction that in community and with much love, you can achieve a full life.
To achieve this purpose, a plot of land (aproximately 2 ha) was acquired in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada de Santa. Close to the village of Altos Don Diego which takes part of Don Diego River's area. We dream on a place full of love, self-sustaintable organic farm, taking care of the Sacred Mother, helping to create a new humanity sharing with all beings our home, our life experiences and our spirits.
To get to the finca you will experience a 45 to 60 minutes walk/hike by an ecological trail without vehicular access, framed by the impressive beauty of the mountains of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta and a great variety of flora and exotic fauna. The finca is located 3km from the Don Diego.
With us you can live an unforgettable experience, you can enjoy a very nice stay in hammock, basic room or in a tent (according to availability). We offer you daily vegetarian breakfast and lunch. We prefer vegetarian meals but if you eat meat or have any other food preferences you can buy stuff in the shops in the village of Don Diego and prepare your own meals .
We are in a humid tropical climate with temperatures between of 28 to 35 centrigrades and 100 m above sea level.
We have a solar panel to gain 40 W to charge up to three mobile devices and/or 1 computer and 2 light bulbs.
We are right next to the Sierra Nevada Santa Marta and we have contact with indigenous communities of Kogui and Wiwa with whom we maintain a close intercultural relationship. As well 24 kms away you’ll find the Tayrona National Park and 13 kms away the entrance to the archeological Park of Teiyuna (Lost City).
You can also try tubing on the River Don Diego.
The help which is need to be done includes: work in and around the house, ecological agriculture, bio-constructions (main house and dry/compost toilet), harvest of vegetables and fruits depending the season, just as a house labor for self- nourishing. In all our activities we are following the principles of Permaculture.Types of help and learning opportunities
